Play age is way different then how old you have to be to own your own guns, if you can understand the difference. A lot of places (to my knowledge) will let you play with borrowed/rented guns as long as you have a parent/guardian on the premises.

Well, ive been looking at the canadian retailers for airsoft, and i stumbled upon theTokyo Marui MP5 A5. I really like it, watched some shooting videos on youtube, but dont know if it will serve me well for a first gun. I know its expencive, but ive been thinking that maybe if i take a few extra shifts at work i can save up and buy the gun, and equipment. I just want to make sure that if i join some airsoft club like op-for, that the older players dont see me as some nuesence (understandably if they are all older).

If you don't act like an arrogant little shithead that thinks he knows everything, and you respect the rules, there will be no problems. all the people I've encountered in airsoft are great to talk to and very helpful. I suggest you go out to a game and check out some equipment before deciding what gun you want.

Because of the ways the laws are setup in this country for airsoft guns, there is really no other common-sense thing than to wait until you are 18.

After that, you will be able to legally buy, own, and use (in authorized areas) any airsoft gun you want.

Look at this the same way as being able to vote; 18+, no loopholes. Maturity has nothing to do with it, it's the law.
