No I can't really give it an honest review as I haven't skimished with it as of yet. I will say this though, she fires full auto even when the selector switch is set to semi. I an airsoft newb, so I don't know where the problem lies.
Send me a PM when you get yours, I'd love to talk to you about it.

I bought a kraken from Canadian tire for 180 and after a month or two the selector came loose and would only fire in semi...since i did not get around to painting and modding it yet, I took it back and got a new one...no problems at all.. seems to work fine now but I guess you get what you pay for..If you plan on slowly modding it, its perfect.

Thats actually a low end clearsoft, a clear version of a well or similar gun. I hear it's a Galaxy MP5.

pusangani March 6th, 2008 15:51

i thought the Lycaon was the Cyma CM027J or MP5J?

i ordered one but it hasn't gotten here yet

cloves March 6th, 2008 15:52

my Lycoan isn't clear, it's got a black body.
It doen't feel any cheaper than a Kraken...in fact it's a bit heavier and if anything more solid feeling. Despite the selector switch problem

The Kraken (an aftermath product) is definately a Cyma rebrand....so I would think that you are correct, the mp5 Lycoan is likely also a Cyma

pusangani March 6th, 2008 16:03

where did you get your Lycaon from? i ordrered mine from buypaintball.ca

cloves March 6th, 2008 16:33

I got it from Banshee Paintball in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. I didn't mail order it...I walked into their store. Was 140.00 plus taxes.

It's crossman, it says pulse r74 under the title. Google pulse r74 it's crossman, but for all I know it could be a re-branded china-clone.

R74 is also a CYMA. It's all the same shit.

got mine today, didn't come in a box but rather one of those annoying plastic cases that take forever to cut open if you don't have the package shark. It's enh nothing special, the user manual looks like the generic china type with Aftermath's logo on the front so i suspect its a cyma rebrand which could either be a good or a bad thing depending on how you feel about cyma, i have a cyma 028s and its fucking nice

the pulse on buyairsoft.ca is clear/green/black
this one was black/tan and was bought from buypaintball.ca
I would definitely recommend them, excellent customer service. I wanted a Kraken but they didn't have it but its ok because I ended up getting a Cyma CM028-S a few days ago anyway

the diagram in the manual shows a gun with 4 firing modes, safe, semi,3-round burst and full auto and it doesnt include instructions on how to adjust the hop-up

high-cap is kinda shitty, doesnt feed well and it was supposed to have a dummy round at the top of the right-hand side mag , the one that doesn't actually go in the gun. one good thing is that it fits really snugly in the magwell

the orange flash-hider comes off easily to expose a threaded tip, wonder where i can find a silencer for this one for cheap?

the selector switch is a little cumbersome when in full-auto mode, i tried the
trick of setting halfway between semi and full-auto to see if i could get the burst function, but it didnt work

metal parts include: trigger, mag-release , selector switch, front sights, faux charging handle, outer barrel, gearbox, retractable stock, strap attachments , muzzle and of course screws and motor

no chrono, so I can tested it, goes through both sides but not the bottom.

ROF is very high, i don't think the tiny 8.4 Volt 1100 mah battery will last very long in it.

haven't tested the range as of yet

that's all for now

cloves March 7th, 2008 13:42

dude you got the same one as I got. No dummy round in my magazine either.
