You just need a pair of vise grips. Comes off easy. Go clockwise to remove.
Next time post your questions in the right sections. This is a picture tread. |
Sorry Bruce!
http://i271.photobucket.com/albums/j...psaybxfjlk.jpg Do you know of anywhere who stocks that item in the gta? |
Any hardware store will have them. Homedepot, Canadian tire, Reno..... Do you know what I'm talking about? What a vise grip plier looks like.
Get the curve jaw locking plier type. Nice gun btw. Was debating between yours and the LCKS74UN. Ordered the 74UN instead. |
Wait a second. I just notice that on the 74UN, the threaded section is part of the front sight assembly. I hope it's not the same on yours. My LCKS74NV and 74MN threaded adapter can be removed.
|
Looking inside the end of the barrel, the barrel and adapter seem separate.
However on the outside things seem like one whole piece so who knows. I reefed on that sucker with a pipe wrench did some damage to the threads but no luck for me I stopped because I felt like I was going to twist my outer barrel to shit. |
So here's a little teaser shot of my plans for this 104 lct.
I'm thinking plum PMC :D http://i271.photobucket.com/albums/j...psgnx6pgeb.jpg Heads up to those looking at dying handguards and such, Upper and lower are black lct, lower with a dying attempt that's just visible in the right light. Rs magpul fde however comes out a very nice plum :) Do not I repeat do not attempt the hot water dying method on lct Bakelite mags... http://i271.photobucket.com/albums/j...ps1v27hgbd.jpg |
My LCT AK AKMSU also appears to have the FSA integrally cast with the threading for the flash-hider assembly. It also has the tiny grub-screw on the forward portion of the 24mm (?) flash-hider threading - loosening it, has no apparent effect.
There is a spring-loaded pin/spring assembly that is entrapped by the 24mm(?) flash-hider threading. It is kept in place by a roll-pin at the base of the FSA. I was actually going to attempt to remove this 24mm(?) threading in the hopes of finding 14mm +/- threading beneath, in order to test fit a G&G tracer unit onto the AKMSU this morning, before seeing this thread inquiry. I suspect that this FSA, is the same as the one used on the LCT 74U. I have a Hephaestus fore-end on mine, that was meant to fit on either a GHK 74U or AKMSU, both being based upon the LCT body. The G&G tracer unit fits fine on my LCT AK74. The flash-hider pin assembly is not entrapped on the AK74, and is removeable. Dat lower handguard. Need to get me one along w/ the stock once Asura releases it... Nice paint jobs btw, they all look somewhat reminiscent of WWII German ambush camouflage or three color disruptive, pretty awesome.

I don't know why but I just got this AK and for some reason my AKs age really fast.

Very nice! Knew it looked sorta familiar, definitely the flash hider, don't see it often.
How's the lens protector? Is it loose at all? Still need to get one... Btw, anyone know where I can find a Draco gas block? Been digging around for a project I have in mind and no luck finding one anywhere. Seems like they're somewhat hard to find even in the real steel community. |
