Here's my Cansoft KJW 32C with some outer barrel polishing and some Krylon Fusion OD Camo. Will try to post better pictures soon.

How's the new TM Glock, can you have a original one to compare in terms of mag compatibility and such?

I am thinking about getting one and use the frame and the addon bits, but haven't heard anything definitive as to whether the old mags can be used...

RacingManiac,

As far as I know the old mags are interchanageable with the "new" Glock. Really all that is different for the mag is the bumper on the end (which feels quite fragile, I'm hesitant about dropping them on the ground).

I personally really enjoy it, but as with anything tm it feels extremely toyish. I've never gotten to handle a guarder frame for the TM G17 but for 30 bucks + shipping I'd rather try that than to get a New TM G17 for donor parts, if I didnt live in Canada ;)

A pooper for me though is that they don't come with the night sights that the original did =( I wish there were more optic options for TM glocks.

RacingManiac December 26th, 2009 10:43

I had a guarder frame, looks pretty, but broke within days. As I verified with TW shop's owner, the design was not toleranced correctly.....

hattrick December 26th, 2009 16:38

You want the night sights? I've got an extra pair from my tm glock, PM me.

The guarder frame is a no go eh? Thats a bummer I've been thinking about getting one to replace the stock grip for a while now....

I have the Guarder frame in OD & Tan on a couple of TM G17 builds and NO failure/fitment issue whatsoever!

What exactly was the issue you had with yours RaceMan?

RacingManiac December 27th, 2009 12:39

The front screw post where the inner frame bolts into the frame near the trigger guard, that post snapped after few shots. The issue is well known and was confirmed by multiple people on TW site as well as other GBB-centric forum like Trader's. The issue is that the TM inner frame is held by the frame at the screw, but also at the front of the inner frame with a feature on the actual frame. Guarder's frame does not have the same support, so all the return to battery impact on the outer barrel, which is trasfer to the inner frame via the hop unit that sits on the inner frame, is held solely via the screw post. If you run a steel slide and 200% spring than like me it might accelerate the process...

I think potentially you maybe able to remedy this(for me will need a new one), is to potty the front of the inner frame such that it'll fit the Guarder frame with more support...As with most cases though, TM's OEM stuff is just better engineered...

You lost me right there.....

Ps : what does OEM stand for?

RacingManiac December 27th, 2009 16:46

Original Equipment Manufacturer...in this case TM...

I'll grab a pic...

hattrick December 27th, 2009 16:56

Looking at the lower frame with the slide off I believe you mean that they either
1) didn't put a screw through the front end of the chassis, or
2) didn't put that lip infront of the chassis on the grip itself causing excessive pressure on the screw i refered to in #1.......

Tell me if im getting close.

re-reading your post it sounds like my #2 is exactly what your talking about. <- editz0r
