Low Price Sidearm Options

Hey all,
I'm looking at possibly getting a sidearm, it could be useful in some games/ situations, but i don't want to spend a ton of money. I'm looking for something that is possibly CO2. looking for more function then form.

I've read about the Crosman pistol, and have heard good thing about it.
is there anything similar to that?

thanks

FACE January 14th, 2011 12:44

If you're going to buy a crosman than wait until the C11 comes on sale for half price at Canadian Tire. Don't pay full price for it. No need to, as this comes on sale allot.

FACE.

bareass January 14th, 2011 13:02

sounds good, any other options though? just want to see what there is so i can compare.

Styrak January 14th, 2011 13:58

How much is "low price"?

Check out my retailer thread.

PugsleyAdams January 14th, 2011 14:00

You did say in the first post that you wanted something more for form rather than function! Maybe it would help if you stated a bit more clearly, exactly what you're looking for, how much you're willing to spend! Maybe you'll get more usefull responses that way!

CDN_Stalker January 14th, 2011 15:18

Buying the C11 at full price isn't that bad, it's a decent gun. Mind you, it only comes with one 15 shot 'stick clip', but you can buy them in pairs for $15 at Pyramid Air in the US, just be prepared to pay UPS fees which sucks because I chose snail mail. I ordered two pairs for a total of about $28 plus shipping, then got notice a week later I needed to pay almost $20 brokerage fee to UPS. Bastards.

Thanks for the info on the Brokerage fees. I was going to go ahead and order those stick mags for my C11 and my USP, but not now. Wish I could find a retailer here in Canada. Oh well, off to look in google for a retailer. :)

Edited!

I'm thinking the hundred dollar range. I would spend a bit more if it was really worth it.

from what i can tell about the green gas mags is that once they leak th're done, and a nother hundred bucks goes out the window.

as for the brokerage fees, i live in windsor, so i get get it shipped to detroit and pick it up from a ups distribution center.

PugsleyAdams January 14th, 2011 15:46

Green gas mags are pretty good as long as you keep gas/oil in them so the seals don't dry out! If/when they do start leaking they're relatively cheap to fix as the main seal is an o-ring and new valves are cheap enough as well!

Mags that take green gas/propane can be fixed if they leak. Its usually cheaper to fix a leaky mag then buy one of the C11 mags. If a green gas mag leaks its usually an o-ring thats worn out, or the bottom of the mag isnt tight enough. Thats what happened to my mags when i didnt use them for a while.

Green gas mags DO NOT cost allot to fix. Buying a gun from out of country is not advised.

no buying the stick mags for the c11,
they should be fine to cross the boarder, cause it looks nothing lke a real mag

BoGrain January 14th, 2011 16:18

the KJW mk1 is pretty cheap and much better quality than the C11 by crossman

Adamlxlx January 14th, 2011 17:19

S&W mp40. 79.99 at wally world. /end thread

megabeers January 14th, 2011 20:03

They are fine to cross the border, is how I got mine.

DoctorBadVibez January 14th, 2011 20:55

Quickest way to load those mags, jab them into a bag of bbs repeatedly... I saw a gent do that, it seemed like a decent nbb, that coming from me, I'm somewhat of a purist...

Second that! I did... Makes sense..

sortie39 January 15th, 2011 04:50

try CYBERGUN products!

bareass January 19th, 2011 11:43

so is there any other options?
while i wait for the C11 to go on sale, I want to look into other possible options.

how is the Umarex USP? or the S&W Sigma 40f?

BoGrain January 19th, 2011 11:49

the Umarex TF11 is also very good for the price

immortalundead January 19th, 2011 11:49

There is the KWC desert eagle that surplus ig is selling now at the same price as american prices if your interested. its also CO2

Scouser January 19th, 2011 12:21

could pick up the taurus co2 pistol, i had one for a while and it was pretty solid, only downside was a long trigger draw

one of my buddies still uses his as a backup if hes out of ammo for his kjw 1911.

theres no hop-up, and a minimum of moving parts, so nott much that can go wrong with it. Comes with only one mag (15 rds i think) and you can buy spare mags for something liek 40$ @ cabelas. pretty accurate out to about 40' or so, and it has a 20mm under rail if u wanna go spending crazy later on and add a flashlight or laser to it.

Check this one out.

bareass January 19th, 2011 12:57

The TF 11 is tempting, but a little out of my price range. if i was looking for a gun to use indoor, i would but i don't need that right now. I'm planning on buying a S34P for that, and i want a shotty first!

as for the KWC, its a good price for a cool gun, but i'd rather not throw 150 buck into a gun that is going to break down and not have available part. i know the C11 is in the same boat, but i've heard beter things on its reliability, and its a lot less.

i'm probably going to go with the c11. once it goes on sale i'll be able to buy that and the s34p using my CT money, and not have to spend out of pocket

immortalundead January 20th, 2011 10:44

Having handled the desert eagle myself, it feels pretty solid, and they do offer all the replacement parts at surplus ig.

LegioXIII January 24th, 2011 13:11

Any opinions on the KJW Ruger Mk 1? I don't mind the NBB plus I kind of like the .22 styling. Its price also rivals some of the clearsoft options. I know it's a hard shooter but I just plan on using it as a plinker or a backup for AEGs in outdoor games.

its accurate and lightweight and yeah it shoots hard 400fps with .2s if i remember correctly the only thing is the mag catch is annoying

Hey Bareass, found this for ya:

http://www.airsoftcanada.com/showthread.php?t=117773

Crosman S34P with 6 shells for $50.....

Sportco January 25th, 2011 10:52

At 100$ plus, you could look for a used KJW glock 23

Once they have been accurized they shoot pretty well and look good, the MK1 shoot well (out of the box) I've been told but looks a bit wimpy in person

Cheers

No problem, besides, you'd not likely have clicked on it unless you were interested in the M11A1. He hid it well in there, likely just for you. Lol

bareass January 25th, 2011 12:45

LMAO i guess we'll see!
