Looking for good clear airsoft
Hello
I'm looking for the best clear gun that is generally compatible. After reading about all the trouble and laws, I don't want any hassle... So I want to buy a clear gun, Aftermath, Crossman, Colt seem to be the brands available. What do you guys suggest? moogy |

+1 to Kraken AK
but...why? |
+1 to the why i mean not like you cant get better guns and all
|
+3 for KRAKEn. why get a low end gun
|
If you're already age verified, what further hassle is there? If the police really wanted to get you on some sort of Replica Firearm-based charged, having a clear AK-47 will probably be no different than having a black AK-47. People who call the police about their neighbours having airsoft guns generally don't/can't distinguish between clear and coloured anyways. Just a thought.
|
????? i just dont get it.... your verfied....
|
Well I know I'm verified.
I want to buy a clear gun so I can make or mod it into my own special design later. If I buy a nice looking gun for 700$ what is the point in modifying it physically. The BLACK or REAL versions of a gun seem problematic selling... You have to be part of the underground it seems. To buy a black gun you need to shell out 350$ plus... If I can get a clear gun for 150$ and put a better gearbox and other components for under 300$ total... This seems like a good solution. I don't need for the gun to look real to play. When I see speedball gun that are much better in design and mechanics then real looking guns. This is just my opinion. Aftermath makes the Kraken AK-47 but they make also other models.... Are they as good as the AK-47? Thanks |

The only Airsoft line of AEG's that even come close in price, range and quality say to ego's,angels and proto matrix's are PTW's. Even then they do not have the same features a tricked out electro would. I sometime laugh when I hear about 3 fire modes on AEG's my angel has over 12! All metal parts? Most high end paintball markers are all CNC machined from Aerospace aircraft grade Aluminum. Have fully interactive LCD control panels not to mention many other things that make it everything a AEG is not. Simply put, I've played paintball for over 9 years grown up with the age of semi to the now age of 15 bps max in the speedball arena. If you find yourself leaning towards paintball guns maybe you should play PB? Personally, with 2 angels in my inventory and 9 years of playing PB, times and the sport have changed. I enjoy it yet find myself looking to airsoft for what paintball used to offer, A brotherhood of people, willing and happy to help one another out just based on the common desire to play and grow the sport of airsoft. I feel paintball has gotten to big and mainstream for that now days, I can't remember the last tournament I played that was not 150% competitive, people all want to be Chris Lasoya these days...... My 15 bitz P.S: As for clearsoft I have no opinion worth posting........ it's that obvious... But I would like to bring up another point, clearsoft with it's cheap prices and crap quality can't even keep up with paintball.... bellow I will show you what both sports offer for entry level markers at around the same price range.... The airsoft industry as a whole needs to be more competitive with it's prices and products. For the love of god! Aftermath Kraken AK-47 Airsoft Rifle: $140-160 Average gun recommended to most new airsoft players in the Budget zone. http://us.st11.yimg.com/us.st.yimg.c..._1994_22350712 - 370 fps - Semi, Full Auto - Steel barrel, body, frame and steel gearbox - Adjustable Hop-Up system Smart Parts Ion: $160-190 Average gun recommended to most new paintball players in the Budget zone. http://cdn-www.pbreview.com/pics/1108333917.jpg - 17 balls per second semi-auto rate, 3 shot burst, 10 bps full auto, Rebound firing mode. -Break-beam Vision Anti-Chop System Reliable and durable, the eyes are mounted on a separate board for perfect alignment and not affected by paint or body color. Just clean and replace (in minutes). -A Featherweight Prizefighter At 2.2 pounds (In paintball this is a plus) - Reliability The Ion was engineered to stand up to the demands of professional players. It will outlast what used to be considered high-end and won't break down the minute you get it home. -Ball Detents Approximately 10 times the service life of current detents - Great Efficiency Expect a reliable 1000-1400 shots from a 68ci, 4500psi - Body kits easy to find -Tools 1/8" Allen wrench is all you need for primary disassembly Now add in the $280.00 for a Compressed air tank $140.00 for a electro fed hopper and your ready to go! lol None the less on a 1 to 1 basis the Ion is a better value hands down, they last for years and years and have won tournaments..... So to finish up, paintball is like airsoft in the sense of this same piece of advice passed on now for over 25+ years: "If you do not have the money to invest in these kinds of sports stick to video games. It will just irritate you playing vs comp level markers. Truly |
First all thank for you honesty BrickHouse.
My intension in airsoft is to progress like in any sport. I just want to make sure that I don't start off down the wrong trail. If I buy a line of gun that I can slowly upgrade... that's fine by me. I just want to make sure I can. Crossman seem to be a line that if you buy... you can't do anything with it later. This is what I want to avoid. I will upgrade the component slowly and I will see the difference at each step. Thanks to all in the thread. moogy |
if you want to slowly upgrade get a Jing Gong

They don't make clear guns, but you can install a clear body on it :D
|
Sorry man they do not,
it's well worth the wait to go to the JG line, they are 95% compatible with TM components. Hope that helps |
The upper tier of clear guns is the kraken.
JG should suit your needs well though, and not for much more money. |
dont meen to get a clear JG just a Black one if you do get a crossman it is not TM compatible
|
Well I just got a TM after all the price was good...
I'll still be looking for a clear gun just to make something in the futur... Thanks guys moogy |

A better question to ask would be "Can you guarantee Customs clearance?" My 2 cents.
|

its like walmarts electronics dept. hey if you dont know we dont know either |
what is the fps of the kraken ak on sir
they said its 370 fps with .2g bb at www.buyairsoft.ca but they said its 300fps with .12g bb(big~~difference) at s.i.r:confused: |
buyairsoft is the cancer of Canada.
Buy elsewhere... |
First, I'll start by saying there is no such thing as a good clearsoft gun unless you're just looking to plink at home. Then, clearsoft is fine.
That being said, of all the clear guns out there (AEGs), the only one I would consider remotely fieldable is a Kraken. You can look high and low and you won't find anything else. Just take note that some people have great luck with their stock Krakens and they last for thousands of rounds without any issue. Others have them break before they go through a full mag. The great thing about Krakens is they're TM compatible. So if anything breaks, you can generally get a replacement part pretty cheaply and easily (as with the other Aftermath guns, but the Kraken is the best of all of them). And you can also slowly upgrade them over time. Some guys on these forums have upgraded Krakens with metal bodies, wood kits, high end internals, etc and now have guns that are better than a stock TM that costs $600 new for significantly less money. However, this upgrading stuff is not for everyone. If you've never done it before, you could possibly do more damage than anything else. If you're mechanically-inclined though, you could be ok. Now, I can somewhat understand your apprehension about guns, but dude, you're age-verified. Get a good gun. No cops will arrest you for having a black gun. The only way you'll get in trouble with a gun is if you take it out in public or do something stupid with it. And know what? You'll get in EXACTLY the same trouble doing that with a clear gun too. So really, your point is sort of moot. Do yourself a favor. If you don't want to spend a bundle, just hit the classifieds and get yourself a JG gun. It will be nice and affordable. And if you end up not liking airsoft, you can probably sell it back for almost the price you paid for it as long as it's in good condition. |
Now that Basspro has the new Broxa Evolution Special Operations Command Soft Air Rifle (http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/st...=SearchResults) can it compare with the Kraken?
|
It looks like it's just a slightly different version of the Aftermath Lycoan. It's a full stock MP5 with a railed front end and useless accessories instead of a regular collapsable stock MP5 that the Lycoan is.

i have one and i am sure the buyairsoft.ca numbers are more correct than the s.i.r. numbers. shoots through both sides of a coke can, and the bottom. draws blood at 50 feet. doesn't sound like 300 fps with .12 to me. |

It could have a more powerful spring. Often, the muzzle velocity of these cheap guns becomes it's most touted selling point to leave noobs going "OMFG!!! 400 fps out of the box! Even my friend's TM doesn't do that!". Notice how it's the first thing they seem to point out in the specs? Also, that could be with .12g BBs too. They don't specify the BB weight. And generally, the internals of these cheap AEGs (plastic bushings & pot metal gears) can't really handle the force of a 400 fps spring and they end up breaking very quickly.
|
Hey, I own the kraken ak-47 and painted it red tiger with some stencils i got off google. Its not a bad idea.
|
Why not gold? That wouldn't be original at all.

Not true- the Crosman Pulse R72 is a G3 SAS clone and totally upgradable. It started with it and for a few months had a JG G3A3 set of internals, a Matrix 3000 Magnum motor, rewired the stock for a large battery- it fired around 350fps and was still cheaper than the TM gun of the same make. In the end I actually returned it to stock status as it makes for a perfect CQB gun in its stock form and I have both my G3A3s intact for me and my wife to use. Crosman Pulse R76- the Crosman AK-74u clone which also looks to be 100% the same as the 2 TM Betas, and the 3 JG Betas locally. It fires 300fps out of the box so I have kept it for a decent midrange fps SMG but should I want to I could easily and cheaply upgrade it for less than the TM Betas. Every single other Crosman 'AEG' is a perfect POS however- good for little more than stopping doors or holding paper down on a windy day. Like you I get the clear guns when I want a project- and I get higher end clones for when I just want a gun that works (the JG G3A3 is firing around 387fps out of the box). In fact locally a bunch of the guys are getting the clear receivers to practice various paint techniques as with a clear gun you can paint both the inside a nice silver colour and the outside a nice gun metal black (or whatever suits your mood- that clear Sig AEG that was painted on here was wicked cool). 'course many on here cant understand NOT buying name brand pro grade stuff- to each their own ;) |
just like everyone else said, go with the kraken, head on over to basspro shop (if ur in or near the GTA) and pick one up, there about 120 bucks now, the only problem is everyone wants one, so go down right in the mornign and hope they have them in stock :)
