Madbull Real Steel to AS Conversion

http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/w...38-tm-tfb1.jpg

As posted by the firearm blog:

Quote:

Taiwan company MadBull Airsoft have developed a conversion kit to convert any non-semi auto shotgun (pump, single shot, double barrel) into an airsoft gun. The kit includes a barrel insert and special 12 gauge rounds. The rounds of loaded with standard 6mm plastic BBs and charged with C02 gas.

The barrel insert does not appear to allow regular 12 gauge cartridges to be chambered, preventing the accidental mixing of training and live ammunition.

This product will likely be a lot cheaper to buy and operate than other shotgun training systems.

I can't wait to try this system out.

( If anyone from Madbull is reading this, please get in touch with me, your email system is not working and my replies are bouncing )
I'm assuming this is the fruition of their once vapourwared training shells, unless Firearm Blog guy is working from old info.

Queue discussions on accidents, cool factor and legal matters.

lol ohh man that doesn't sound good at all....

Brayden January 16th, 2012 16:46

Its interesting because we strive to make our airsoft guns as close to the real thing by adding real steel parts, real trades, using higher quality materials, and that is considered OK but to use a real shotgun converted to airsoft seems to spark a lot of attention o.o

While I do not understand how it works I can see how people can be scared that it was a firearm, but to say someone is going to load it with real ammunition is going too far, lets be honest.

Some air soft replicas are so close that if someone brought a real gun, who would know?

Also this is probably not intended for civilians.

Foxx January 16th, 2012 17:42

That is the stupidiest idea ever, converting real steel into airsoft launchers.... what were they thinking ??

Styrak January 16th, 2012 20:09

Considering it's illegal to point at firearm at anyone, loaded or not, and besides the fact it's just plain not a good idea to do that...

No, this is a fucking horrible idea.

TRAINING SYSTEM
Not for airsoft play. Kinda like Simmunition.

Should I put it in a flashing marquee too?

Boyso January 16th, 2012 20:35

Still, it's airsoft and not simunitions.

It's just wrong.

The Airsoft shells have been on the market for over two years ago.

I'm pretty sure MadBull realized the legalities involved with using real steel so if they are available it's to LE and Military only.

I guess it doesn't help when I say the Airsoft shells work in real steel regardless, that is if you want the extractors to DESTROY the shell overtime :D

he died cause the movie people decided to take real bullets pull them apart taking out the gun powder but they forgot to take out the primer which was enough to push the bullet forward and killing him had nothing to do with airsoft

I used to point firearms at people 9-5 and very few of them came away with deep emotional scars.

+1 on that cuz I used the shells on my Mossberg 500 and it works just fine.

On another note I think the best way to avoid confusion is either paint the shell or shotgun a different color and label it for that purpose alone. I know a couple of police departments label and paint a shotgun dedicated for non-lethal rounds and also aren't you supposed to read the labels on the shells before loading?
