C7A2 Project

So I have started work on a C7A2 Project.

I have decided to break the project into a couple of phases to both help with costs and an easy transition to get all the materials needed to complete the project.

My Goal is to have it look like:
http://www.airsoftpics.info/data/media/2/c7a2.gif

Phase 1: Get an AEG (TM M4) and Elcan( In my case Real Steel) *** Complete ***
Phase 2: Replace M4 Front End with M16 Front end (Added a SystemA 6.04 Tightbore barrel for increased accuracy *** Completed ***
Phase 3: Paint Stock OD and Replace M16 Pistol Grip with a Gaurder OD Grip. 50% Complete
Phase 4: Get Gaurder Black Casting with out any markings and get C7A2 Engravings done.

So my M4 that I started with is upgraded with a PDI 170% Spring and metal bushings.

Now after Phases 1 and 2 are complete, here is what shes looking like:

Dame thats nice job man

Jackals July 26th, 2005 01:16

Thanks, but thats only the easy steps, the hard ones are about to come. So much needs to be replaced. I just finished spray painting the stock a couple minutes ago (least the first coat of paint). I will keep this updated.

here is a pic of my on Saturday at the LZ in Ottawa with it. Dont have a proper battery for it yet so I zip tied my AN/PEQ (its for sale) to the C7!

Not to get off the fact that your gun is looking good.
I'm just wondering if anyone knows where to get front site rails like on the actual c7 in the pic in the original post?
Any links to the actual part shown or even replica/alike front site rails would be appretiated.

Also once again good work Jackals.
It looks good so far and I can't wait to see the finished project.:)

Awesome job so far man cant wait to see more WIP pics and of course the final result!!! Dont forget about the OD Elcan cover and all the ambidextrous stuff such as cocking handle, mag release, fire selector as well if you want pure authenticity. Also the trades usualy read either C7 or C8, not C7a1 or C7a2 etc.

I am not sure why, but the krylon paint is coming darker on the scope and grip then it is on the stock. Anyone have any ideas why?
