Spilled BBs on floor, not fired, still usable?

My girlfriend came home and knocked off my bb bags off my shelf and they are now spilled all over the floor, she said she put half of them back in the bag already so my entire stock is tainted if this is bad, is it possible to wash them after picking them up and still use them if they havent been fired?

Unless your floor is a filthy shitpit that's never been cleaned, they're fine .....

I'm not even sure why you think otherwise.

I wasnt sure if the small dust in the floor would damage the hopup, its not filthy but I cant say theres 0 dust anywhere.

I know a guy who dumps new BBs into a colander and rinses them under tap water, then dries them on a towel, before he uses them. That seems excessive to me, but his method might help in your situation.

Using dirty BB's can scrape the shit out of your inner barell. Will fuk up your accuracy.

Your BBs get dirtier going into your mag. Don't worry about it. Rinse them if you'd like but they're perfectly fine.

This is true, but unless his floory is dirty, it's not really a concern.

People actually do that? I thought my random spot inspections were crazy. I sometimes (for the hell of it) pull like 10 random BBs from a bag and record the size using digital calipers.

Rusty Lugnuts October 6th, 2012 18:06

as long as they still taste ok...

L473ncy October 6th, 2012 18:53

Unless you live in a pig sty I wouldn't worry about it. I've spilled BB's on my floor before, hardwood, carpet, etc. I put them back in and use them. If it's outside like on a field or in a backyard, then yeah I consider them done but inside; if you vacuum like once a week and keep your house generally clean or whatever then it should be fine.

Fixed.

Misogyny aside, she spilled em, she can wash em. Blot off excess water with kitchen towel, let dry overnight, put back in bag, win.

Don't see any misogyny here if she spilt it.

to solve the issue, just tell your girlfriend she has to buy you 2 new bags to replace the one she knocked over, lol

Like the other said, just be sure the BBs are clean and you don't scoop up anything else and put it in the bag. Washing isn't necessary so long as they are clean. If you have to wash your BBs before you, consider a different brand. BBs should be clean out of the bag. Some people used to clean the graphite BBs because they were powdery, but I think those went the way of the dodo.

Referring to some other posters, reusing BBs is generally a bad idea as they do malform on impact by design, so they are no longer spherical. Used BBs will potentially jam your gun or rip your hopup. Used BBs in a grenade might not be bad but you still risk jams.
