A&K PTW - Need help pls
 

Hello;

So I just received my used A&K PTW from someone off of the classifieds and noticed that the body pins were not in all the way. So, I used a hammer to lightly tap them all the way.

Well, apparently the pin was not 100% straight and I ended up cracking the lower receiver at the magwell. The gun still works but I am wanting to make sure that receivers that are designed for systema, will work with my A&K PTW and I can just swap everything over to a new Systema lower body. I have heard that everything is almost 100% compatible but I don't want to fork over the cash just to find out that I was wrong.

Please let me know what I need to do to fix this frustrating situation.

The bodies are swappable but you need new body pins as they are different size from Systema

Systema lowers will fit but it will be very tight so will FCC the issue of the A&K is that some the casting are not quite straight and they are a bit off depending on the box you get some of the holes may not lined up perfect.

Is it still a problem for individuals to import lower receivers?

that's what i'm not sure of... I've been out of the airsoft scene for a bit and am not sure if anything has changed in that regard...

AFAIK individual importation of lowers and other prohib items is still a no go. For individuals ideally it should be a complete gun and done under the uncontrolled category.

Check the classifieds here and on other regional forums where PTW ownership is high (Alberta, Ontario).

I had a complete gearbox looking for a receiver, and PM'ed one of the FCC dealers requesting a lower, I didn't get the result I was looking for and I ended finding a factory PTW lower for my gearbox for < $70 dollars
