Snugpak Jungle advice
 

Hi! I’ve been looking into the warm climate “Jungle” sleeping bags from Snugpak. I have read lots of reviews, watched lots of videos but would still like to hear from someone who’s really put this bag to use how it has held up. I would also like to know if you can connect and seal the mosquito net when combining right hand with left hand zip bags. (To form two person bag)

I recommend the Snugpak SF Bivvi Bag.

I plan on using the jungle combined with standard bivvi bag for overnight protection from elements at games in warm months.

My wife and I are planning to go to Israel in the spring. We plan to camp. If we could connect and seal mosquito nets between the two bags — super.

Snugpak Jungle bag is great!

I have been using the Jungle bag for many years now. It still is hokding together, shocking for an $80 (in those days) bag. I never use the net, I am either in my Catoma Raider or Nemo Gogo. The bag is small when packed, but as the temp drops, it can be a bit chilly. My preferred bag now is the Special Forces 1.

The trick is having a modular system.

Layers are your friend.


My personal go to setup is a RECON 3 sleeping bag and a Thermolite sleeping bag liner.

The outer layer when required is the Snugpak SF Bivvi bag.



If you are concerned about 2 people I suggest a 3 or 4 man tent.


Always divide the published capacity of a tent by 2 to compensate for your kit.

I've used the jungle bag for years at this point for warm weather camping it's my current go-to bag (i do however sleep hot) my most recent use was a three-week off-road motorcycle trip from Nashville to the Oregon coast. i only had 90 litres of space so the small size of that bag was key. i only had two cold nights, with the zipper running up the side and bottom its hard was hard to keep the feet warm. but the nice thing is you can completely open the bag up into a blanket when it's really warm out.

I slept in a hunker1 four-season tent, so it was a warm tent, to begin with.

with honesty, i do plan on replacing it in the future with a sierra designs front country 35
for most uses, unless i need the small pack size of the jungle bag. the snugpak is starting to show its age after years of good use.

I finally picked up this bag. For now I opted for a different bag for my wife, she's quite short so we found for her - Snugpak Laponie junior, for kids :)

Attended an event on the weekend. 24 + hour event. -15C
Slept from 0500 - 0900 combination of Snugpak jungle bag, Snugpak Laponie, and Snugpak bivvi. Light blanket liner from home and some standard sleeping pad. No tarp or tent. Thermo underwear, fleece jacket and two pairs of heavy winter socks. Slept very well. Was impressed. These sleeping elements I didn't intend to use together, especially in winter, but don't regret trying them. It was not simple sealing myself up in all this though.

This is a very light sleeping bag liner and it is very compact.


It is a great boost to any sleeping bag/bivvi combo.

I have the fleece liner. I have used it by itself, it is awfully warm.
