first time players mistakes

what would you guys say is the biggest/most frequent mistake made by first time players?

Goldman March 1st, 2006 19:00

Accidental Disccharges in teh safe zone, and not making use of barrel plugs/ condoms, that would render said discharges a non-danger.

Darklen March 1st, 2006 19:03

Being mistaken for someone who knew what he was doing.

Wait, that still holds true.

Greykin March 1st, 2006 19:03

1. Leaving the barrel condom on while in-game.
2. Forgetting to take your goggles off your forehead and onto your eyes while in the game area.

Grim Fandango March 1st, 2006 19:19

Funniest mistake I saw was a noob at PBC put there paintball mask on upside down.

Drake March 1st, 2006 19:24

Forgetting to put their goggles on when they go onto the field.

Friendly fire (keep your stupid finger off the trigger).

Being afraid to get down cuz the ground is all icky.

Getting lost in the woods.

Aquamarine March 1st, 2006 19:30

Taking off your goggles while I'm playing beside you. Last time that happened, I slapped the kid on the head. Rory never forgot it.

Whozat March 1st, 2006 19:49

Yep, taking goggles off. I usualy warn newbies at the begining of the day, if I see it happen, their gone for the day. Try again next time.

SockMonkey March 1st, 2006 19:52

Shooting at people WAY out of range.

Friendly Fire

Over shooting

Wearing running shoes out onto the field (once dress shoes)

uhhh thinking no one is notices when they dont call hits.

trigger March 1st, 2006 19:57

talking way too loud while "in country"
returning probing fire
thinking we cant see you behind that sappling
shoving the muzzle into the dirt in every single trench

Igor01 March 1st, 2006 20:10

Not really mistakes but say surprises:

Discovering that side-scrolling and bunny-hopping don't work in airsoft as well as they do in Counterstrike. Another big disappointment - no health packs and Save button :)

vondnik March 1st, 2006 20:29

not reading the FAQ and asking stupid questions....

Let's see, it all revolves around not reading the basics first.

Showing up in clothing that screams "I'M HERE!!!"
Shooting everything that moves, friend, foe, leaves...
Yapping so much that even if you miss the funky clothes, you can simply aim at their voice and hit them all (they gather in bunches).
Yapping when 'dead' so much that players still in the field cant hear anything else.
Running screaming across the field saying "You cant hit me!"... two seconds before they swallow a BB.
Shooting your partner, the guy who'se right behind you covering your ass. (I know, said something like that already).
Removing goggles, usually a fraction of a second before you get a burst in the face that was launched your way 2 seconds ago...
Extreme stupidity with loaded guns in the staging area.
Truly stunning mechanical ineptness (watch a newbie open a mechbox for the first time when they claim they know it all. To add insult to injury, watch this happen outdoors at a staging area. Much fun ensues).
Getting lost in a 4 acre woodland, when to the immediate north is a major road, and in any other direction is a swamp. (What do you mean you're going into woodlands and cant tell where North is?)
Showing up to a game with everything imaginable, except a charged battery.

Of course, again, never Ever reading anything.

Oh, by the way... I've personally witnessed all of the above.

Honestly? If it's totally stupid and moronic, it's been done.

Watching a kid get mercied with a rubber knife. He was armed like nobody's business too. Just to shocked to shoot I guess.
