CAL .45 Drop Leg Holster Discussion

Anyone seen this manufacturer before? Anyone have/used this holster? Any feedback?

CAL .45 Drop Leg Holster at eHobby Asia

It would be for a KSC G19. Construction looks fairly solid from the sole 2 pictures, and as a bonus I think the bottom of the holster is sewn shut as well (can't stand open holsters).

The description from the site:

# Tactical Dropleg Holster for Handgun, Pistol & Revolver
# Large holster suit for large pistol frame
# Design for pistol with or without Flashlight/Laser Attached
# e.g. Glock 17 + Surefire X200
Beretta M9 + Insight M3
# TWO Spare Magazine Pouches
# ONE Flashlight or Baton Pouch
# All Durable Nylon Constructed
# Velrco Strap and Buckle Snap make this holster fully adjustable to fix most pistol size
# Pistol Model Suitable for this Holster

Also, if anyone just wants to recommend a good drop-leg holster that would fit a G19 for around or under $50, these are my stipulations:
- Do not need any extra pouches on the holster.
- Must be closed or sewn shut at the bottom of the holster (no dirt in my barrel, kthx)
- Must have a solid, solid method of keeping the gun in place
- A design which does not press the mag release would be nice, too

Thanks to anyone who offers some suggestions.

It's a 15$ holster. What do you expect ?

Lack of a 500% brand-name markup, that's what I expect. It doesn't have to be the Holster of the Gods either. Anything constructive to add?

I can't vouch for the holster but eHobby Asia does sell quality gear at low prices. Just look at the mags or external accessories, often you can get stuff there for less than half what it retails for here in Canada. active1x0 I don't know how their prices compare to what's available in the US but it's definitely a steal here in Canada.

I have purchased about 30 items from these guys in the past month or so and everything has arrived in pristine condition. :)

I wouldn't pay that little for a holster personally. Looks like a bad ripoff of an HSGI holster. It says it works with attached lights, so unless you have a light, your pistol will probably be pretty loose.

I've bought stuff from them before. Don't let the prices fool you, it's actually nice shit... and out on the field, no-one can tell your $15 Holster from the $55 job everyone else is using.

I prefer to spend my cash where it counts, on my guns.

I like you.

Get one made for a Glock if possible. The frame on a G19 is alot smaller than a USP .45 and there may be retention issues. If they make one for a USP Compact or a Glock as well, go with that instead. Nothing worse than losing your gun in the bush!!

Any recommendations from anyone? I already have a big list of potential holsters, but could always use more suggestions...

ALOT smaller. If you get a chance, compare them side-by-side.

Brand name holsters have a warranty, and someone who stands behind their product.

When you ask for peoples oppinions on a $15 dollar holster, dont shit on them when they say something you dont like...

Having used both replica/airsoft holsters and the real deal, they cant compare in almost any respect. If you want a dropleg holster, buy a good (name brand) one or you will hate it. If your going for a belt mounted holster you 'can' go cheaper. Buy a holster made as specific to your gun as possible, this will help avoid lost mags and guns. Also, keep in mind you dont have to spend $150+ for a name brand holster (espically you as an american). Take a look at brands like Blackhawk,Tactical Tailor and Eagle, all three make good to amazing kit often for less than you would expect.

More specifically, talking about the holster your interested in, I would stay away. It is very difficult to get a stable drop leg platform, I dout for $15 they put in the R&D needed. Also, if the holster can hold a Mk23, it will NOT hold a G19 secure.

Oz, he did not offer any constructive feedback at all. It accomplished nothing - that's why I retaliated. Your post however, offered lots of information, and is much appreciated. Thank you.

I did some more searching and I think I finally found something I liked.

I have one more question: I want to attach a tactical pistol retention lanyard to my G19. The description says it attaches to the "lanyard ring in the sidearm", but I can find no such ring on my gun. Can anybody tell me how/if this attaches to a KSC G19?

firemachine69 May 24th, 2006 00:58

It can't. The real-steel G19 "plug" that goes in the empty part of the handgrip does not fit airsoft glocks, unfortunately.

I'm not very familiar with BDS Tactical, ignore my ignorance, is that a low-key american gear maker?

Eagle Brand, amazing quality for the price.

Adrian May 24th, 2006 01:14

BDS tactical is the offshoot of SOE; lesser QC with the same price and none of the innovation.

Honestly, I saw a couple SOE .45 holsters for $50 on here a while back.

The extra 35 bones will get you a (used) holster with a lifetime warranty that won't fail you. I've had gbbs fall out of shitty holsters and get clogged with sand. The extra money is worth it.
