Relativly new player, what gun to get?

I am by no means an airsoft player yet, i enjoy playing games with my friends in different areas (backyard, fields ect.) but i want to start playing with groups of people that meet at actual playing fields, and with other serious players. Now, for the gun part, i have some guns that are great for backyard wars, but i need a good gun that will hold up on the field, and i am willing to spend up to $100. I like the classic looking m16, but there are so many different models. So does anyone have some advice on what to get, and where to buy it from?

Thanks!

um ya... use that 100 dollars to buy some diapers because your going to shit yourself when you find out how much real airsoft costs(I know i stole that phrase but it seems suiting)

I'll assume you're Canadian since you didn't put any info about yourself in your Profile. Having said that, here in Canada one must be at least 18 to buy or possess Airsoft guns. You'll need at least 10 times your $100 budget to get started with a weapon and that doesn't include batteries, magazines, eye protection, boots, etc. At the top of the screen is a button for Canadian Retailers. 007 and A&A, aside from this Forum's classifieds, are where you can see what's in stock and order online. In order to view the ASC classifieds you first must meet with a Rep and prove you're of age.

I like this guy.

Eh, man. If you're still interested when you're of age, get involved. It's a great hobby/sport.

Especially when you got a brain inbetween yer eyeballs :)

Cheers.

You'll have a better grasp of airsoft when your done.
Airsoft is not the cheapest hobby to start. Patience is key in airsoft, both on and off the field. Take your time, do your research.

So even if i have a parent/gaurdian with me to sign the wavers, they prefer that it is only people of age? And i am indeed sorry if i am coming off ignorant to the sport, but it just looks so fun :)

And because i like the guns, i might just buy a nice gun, and i read through the article about buying your first AEG, helped alot. I think like the M16A2 or the AIM M4 A1.

Waivers aren't worth the paper they're printed on. The best you can hope for is to have an authorisation to play with your parents physically present on the site, supervising.

Its been talked to death, no use or point in fighting it.

ideally we prefer 18+, but if a parent or legal guardian is willing to come out and play with you then that's fine by us. Any airsoft guns you pay for will be legally owned by your parents, and therefore will be their responsibility until you turn 18.
Until then, save your money and read lots of reviews.
