Mag. Dimensions

hey everyone,

If this counts as a spoonfed thread then i am sorry. i dont intend it to be.

With regards to the M14 mags, what are their dimensions. I am asking because the vest i am getting is technically for paintball and i want to know if the M14 mags will fit inside the 50rd pod holders, which have the dimensions of:

Height: 5 inches
Width: 9 inches
Depth: 2.5 inches

Thanks,

Donster 125

well lets see... the bullets they shoot (techinaclly) are 7.62... so they would be atleast 8 - 8 1/2 long...

i dont think your paintball vest is going to work very well, i tried this 3 - 4 years ago with m4 mags in a PB vest and it was horrible.
save money, buy better vest.
thats my advice.

Yeah your best bet would be to buy a vest meant for airsoft/real steel. Try a surplus store for cheap vests.

...

How do you figure that?

The dimensions of my AGM M14 mags are - 3inches wide, almost an inch thick, and almost 5 inches long, at the longest dimensions.

Heh, I think you got your measurements mixed up. That's 7.62 MILIMETERS, as in, the diameter of the round, not 7.62 inches long!

so does anyone have any good evidence to support either claim, 'cause right now, ancorp has the best stats. thanks btw and i think that the paintball vest will work out.

Well seeing how I picked up an airsoft M14 mag that you plan to put inside your vest, and measured it right before posting, I don't see why you'd have any doubts.

DC_ACU's numbers make no sense what so ever.

Kokanee October 15th, 2007 20:45

Just grabbed a TM lowcap M14 mag out of the closet;

(All measurements made at widest points)

Thickness: 1"
Height: 5"
Width: 3"

Ancorp is correct

ancorp October 15th, 2007 20:46

And that's that. Thanks.

Donster October 15th, 2007 21:20

ya sorry bout that ancorp. i didn't mean to seem that i didn't trust your results, i do. i just wanted more confirmation and such. thanks again for the stats!

DC_ACU October 15th, 2007 22:05

yeah i was horribly confused. leave me alone im sick :P
i couldnt type it as i was thinking it. but then again im in no mood to think today.

im just trying to warn how craptacular a PB vest will be.

Donster October 15th, 2007 22:17

well its a molle vest, i just want the 50rd pods cause they match the camo pattern. i call it a paintball best cause its made by special ops paintball really for paintball but the fact that its molle means i can do anything really with it.
