Brushless

Is it even possible to get a brussless motor into any AEGs?

Why would you want one? You're not using AEGs like R/C airplanes... a BL motor in one is kindof useless.

but just imagine the crazy rof u can get with brushless, all my r/c are brushless, and ive got a revo brushless, and it can do wheelies all day long and still has enuf top end to give my .26 savage :P

pros
Quieter
more power in a smaller package,
more efficient then a brushed motor
no sparking

cons
you need a computer to run it.

Yeah I had and have brusshless r/cs but now im into gas ones got my t-maxx O.S .18 and HPI rs4. so thats why i was wondering if it would work. It would be sick to use it though with a lipo!

ANy trouble getting enough torque out of a brushless to pull back the spring?

Mr.SMIG March 9th, 2008 12:32

You could get a lower kv motor it would have more torque

Syn March 9th, 2008 12:50

Also what is the price/performance ratio to something like a systema short turbo motor? Do they even make a brushless with the same external size specs?

How much would a brushless cost? $150-200?

Mr.SMIG March 9th, 2008 12:54

first of what is the can size of the motor? 280s are about 100 with esc. 380s and 540s are about 150 and up.

Syn March 9th, 2008 13:04

ok I did a quick rough measure of a g36 JG Chaoli micro lollers motor.

can looks to be 4.2 cm long

can + bottom part with contacts 5.5 cm
overall length 7.2 end to gear tip

width 2.5 cm

thanks for info Mr.SMIG I will investigate the motor option. I did some google seaching, some of theses brushless have extra wires for speed control. This may limit availability for aeg?

Mr.SMIG March 9th, 2008 13:22

yeah they do use speed controls but you could find pretty small speed controls out there. A good spot for it would maybe the battery compartment I would think.

ThunderCactus March 9th, 2008 13:32

Why would you want a higher rate of fire than the real steel counterpart of your gun?

Mr.SMIG March 9th, 2008 13:34

dont know just something to try out.
