WE Hi-Capa 5.1 with 2-tone slide

Just received my WE Hi-Capa 5.1 I purchased from Mopic and figured I would share a few pics of this new beast. And when I say BEAST, I mean it. I briefly chronied it using .25s, and was consistently shooting 300-310 fps. Kicks like a mule too. This is the most violent recoil action I've felt on an airsoft gun yet, including the beastly recoil of my M11. The sights need adjustment (yay! first airsoft pistol with adjustable sights!!), but it shoots quite consistently for the 2 mags I've dumped out of it so far. A full-metal, 100% TM-compatible Hi-Capa for $220. Methinks I got a good deal.

Nice pistol! I was looking for a Hi-Capa and this one might be the solution!

Crunchmeister July 18th, 2008 14:18

I think it is. If it fucks up, it's 100% TM-compatible, so parts are cheap and plentiful. That's why I went this route. Even if I had to replace the slide and most of the internals, I'd still have an upgraded, full metal gun for only slightly more money than a stock ABS TM.

Hey Crunch, what we were talking about before: is the slide lightweight?

Also, are you having any slide lock issues?

EDIT: Just read the Mopic thread where you said it's actually the heavy-ass metal...

....told you so :D

Crunchmeister July 18th, 2008 16:01

Yeah, I guess so. It's not aluminum, but this is the model Hi-Capa I wanted anyway, with the 2-tone slide with no trades. And if anything happens to this slide, I know I can get another quite easily to replace it.

The slide is heavy as fuck, but that's what contributes to the kick. This gun kicks like a mule and shoots really well too. I just shot a quick video of some shooting and chronying that I'll be uploading to YouTube in a bit.

I'm not experiencing any issues with it as of yet. Everything works nice and smooth. Shoots hard and straight, and the slide lock works fine.

Time to pimp it out huh?

Looks pretty pimp as is!

I can't see myself replacing any externals unless I have to (as in, something breaks). I have a tightbore barrel on the way for it. I'm going to try to get a new, stiffer recoil springand possibly a better spring guide as starters for the internals. I don't think I'll be doing any more to it, at least in the short term.

Review has been posted and includes a video of a test fire and a chrony test.

the 5.1 is sick, i just got one from mopic a couple months ago. and yes the kick is insanely sick. The only thing i can say bad about (and its a little one) is the spray from the gas as it kicks back. other than that, I LOVE THIS GUN!

Crunchmeister July 18th, 2008 18:39

Yeah, I get quite a spray of gas too. I don't really mind though. It almost looks like smoke from a real shot! ;)

Ktown Militia July 18th, 2008 18:54

you know it!! KA-POW!!!

Styrak July 18th, 2008 19:56

Wow I never realized it had a full length frame before.

Noice!

amano999 July 18th, 2008 20:00

Nice.

For some reason I always pictured you as a little asian dude tho....

Crunchmeister July 18th, 2008 20:31

Nope. Not Asian in the slightest. Been white since birth 37 years ago! LOL And 6' tall and 200 lbs. Not little either. LOL
