9.6v batteries for mp5a5?

When my tm mp5a5 arrived without any batteries, i ordered "Intellect Battery 2/3A 1600mah 8.4v" also got 9.6v battery pack using GP 2/3A ni-mh cells.
Problem is, i can't really fit a 9.6v battery pack, unless i do this.

But i think the shop that did the connections between the batteries didn't pay much attention. the 9.6v battery gives much less ROF. I use dean's connectors too. Also the wiring that adds the extra battery looks low quality.
Anyway
Can this be because of the GP NI-MH batteries? I'm not sure of the mAh.
Can it be because of the wiring used to attach the extra battery?
Would it work if i ordered a 9.6v intellect battery pack, and used copper wires in order to make another "mutant" battery that would fit into my mp5a5?
I don't want to change the gun, i really like the stock this way.
I can afford buying more than one battery and change them regulary in the field.
Any idea?
I'm also upgrading my gun near 400fps.

why dont u just get a lipo? it performs like a beast and its smaller than a 8.4v mini. It's also much safer than you'd think.

It has the power of 12v 5000mah Nimh battery with the size smaller than 8.4v 600mah...

Would these fit without any problems?

I use an electric motorcycle with 48v battery packs that almost exploded because of a deflected charger lol, but that happened only once, yeah they are safe, when everything works.
I'm worrying about the voltage they are at, it's either 7.6v or something near 11? Would the 7.6v one deliver the ROF of a 9.6v pack?

I have seen 9.6V 1400 MaH mini batteries on Airsoft GI. Maybe something like that would work.

If you mean the brick types, they are one cell longer and doesn't really fit :/

I made a mini Intellect 8.4V 1400mAh battery into a 9.6 by adding another cell, and it barely fits the front grip properly in my MP5A. Then again, it has the Navy flashlight grip on it, so that probably makes the biggest difference.

Thanks for the answers
I made a copy of these batteries

To check if they would fit, and there seems to be no problems.

Now, can 9.6v batteries damage my airsoft? I installed/going to install a guarder SP-110 spring, bearing spring guide, guarder steel gears, metal bushings, guarder cylinder, sorbo piston head with sorbo cylinder head, how much rof should i go for, without damaging it quickly.

With the setup you're listing, assuming your upgrades are installed properly, a 9.6v will not damage your gun.
