ELEMENT AK47 300% Torque up

So I jsut bought this too good to be true priced set

read the v2 version thread and got my dreams crushed lol.

so Should Myself and Cheeseman swap out the internals of out stock AKS74 by CYMA with this set OR should we not touch it with a 2 foot pole?

Anyone have experiece putting these in AK's?

Amos January 16th, 2009 16:07

The stock CYMA internals will most likely be better than the element ones.

When a full tune kit costs less than the competitor's gears... you know something's too good to be true.

lol yey i blew money on a pice of shit set...

now time for normal spending lol

plans: have the ak74 shooting 400
- poly piston
- bushings
-S110
- bb spring guide
- sorbo

Styrak January 16th, 2009 19:16

Why don't you just try them first?

Don't forget my money probably went down the toilet too. But anyways we can still try the set with an M120 or an S110 and see how it performs. Worst case scenario, the gears are a piece of shit and won’t perform well for too long (or at all) and then we can invest in quality/known gears like in our AR's.

I installed Element regular ratio gears in a friend's 400FPS CA M4 and they're still going strong since this summer's season.

Good to hear. Thanks for the info.:)

I can vouch for the regular ratio gears. I beat the hell out of mine with an 11.1v lipo shooting mostly full auto. :)

Element is great with so-so quality control. I've had great luck with their parts so far, only having to file down one switch set to operate more smoothly.

But you buying the set, THEN asking if its any good, and then call them a piece of shit without trying. I'd understand if you just joined... but, well you get my point.

That's the thing, based on the replys made at the time I didn't make a final verdict that they're good or implied that they’re bad, I simply said worst case scenario we'll try them and if they're a piece of shit then we'll wait for them to break and buy a better set. I don’t assume or judge without knowledge on something I’m not familiar with. But anyways I appreciate your insight and assistance on this topic.

That's the thing, I wasn't referring to you, don't assume.

element gears

These are surprisingly good for the price.

There's a lot of guys who live in "no limit" airsoft zones (Hawaii, Philippines) have used the MAX TORQUE gears and put guarder SP150-SP170s and they work fine with them.

I have the element 300% helical gears on a 400fps setup just to see what they're like and they work great. Quieter than flat gears.

One thing that is reflective of the cost is quality control. I have seen some element kits that have come with the axle messed up and bent out of shape. There's no way that a $100 Prometheus kit would come that way.

People get bent out of shape about upgrading their gears for a 400fps setup. I don't know about the rest of people out there, but a lot of the guys on the field who have used stock TM gears for YEARS with a 400 fps setup, and the gears dont fail usually fail unless the shimming or something else is messed up during the upgrade.

Ironically, i've seen a few sets of systema gears chip and break. Could be because the guys who installed them didn't know what they were doing, but whatever.

BORDENSNIPER January 19th, 2009 23:22

well soon well have the time to put these in and test it out..thankfull im great at shimming.

Ancorp thanks for taking the extra time to type negative shit, just like the time you and some others send crap into my PM, what stunned me was that you actually wasted the time to do that.

Anyway, this set is helical, and I did some inspecting few days ago and looks very good built quality wise.

cheers
