Gun just died....?
 

So I was firing off rounds with my SRC G36C with a fully charged battery when the gun just stopped working... It's as though it just died. I tried using different batteries and it's still not working.

I just bought this gun 3 weeks ago for quite a bit of money and needless to say I'm more than a bit frustrated.

Did you check the wiring? When you pull the trigger do you hear ANYTHING at all? Can you hear the motor trying to turn but its being hindered? Maybe your trigger contacts are fried, also. If you don't have knowledge of how an AEG works then I suggest you get a hold of a gun doc to take a look at it. Or if you bought it from a retailer and they offer warranty I suggest you contact the retailer.

Assuming the SRC is internally the same as a CA, a G36 (especially on an 8.4v bat) is incredebly easy to lock the mechbox if you don't pull the trigger back all the way. This is because the trigger contacts don't engage until the later half of the trigger pull, so if you don't pull the trigger back all the way you'll cut the power flow mid-cycle.

check your motor connections too. Check the easy things before ripping it apart. Fuse??? motor connections... wire broken, or cut. Then open it up.

There is absolutely no noise when I pull the trigger. I have a very limited knowledge of how an AEG works.

I have managed to disassemble the gun. How do I check the wiring? What exact part of the gun is causing the problem? Where is the motor located?

If I can't fix it on my own I will see gun doctor but that's a last resort.

Easiest way to check the wiring is to use a multimetre. Put one end on the motor terminal and another on the battery plug, pull the trigger. Check the fuse by looking at it.

check the fuse, and the motor wire connections. Motor is in the pistol grip. bottom of grip comes off, connections are right there. Inspect and see if they are broken, or loose. Check the wires from the battery. Check the fuse. If it isn't any of those things, then contact a gundoc.

Where is that? Also where is the motor?

just a few inches off the connector I believe. It might be inside the little plastic container thing.

Fuse, or Your spur gear shaft probably snapped in half.

Send your gun to a gun doc. Get them to check it out.

Would still have the motor turning or at least torquing in the grip.

Wiring or fuse as stated. TM G36s tend to have the fuse in the foregrip, I'd assume most other G36 brands do also. Meter, set to beep, attach one to the red wire on the motor, the other to where the red is on the battery connector, pull trigger. If it beeps, wiring is good. Then touch both ends to the black ends of the wiring, same as above except no need to pull trigger, if beeps then it's good too. If the red doesn't beep, then the fuse is blown, or somewhere in the path is cut. If it just stopped working on you without any internal interferance from you (such as opening the mechbox up, or upgrades), then only thing would be the fuse blew, replace with a suitable or slightly higher current fuse (like a 20A) and see if it works then.

before you ask, you can buy more at crappy tire, bring yours with you and go to the automotive section.

Why did the fuse blow.. That's a better question.

I know why I blew my fuse, It was related to the spur gears shaft snapping in half.
