links dont work

MrBond March 8th, 2010 23:15

Like I said, their bandwith really sucks so you need a download manager or a whole lot of patience...

The Saint March 8th, 2010 23:35

I'll see about putting up an alternate source.

Here's one while it lasts...

[EDIT] My bandwith was exceeded in no time, so I'll leave it to someone else that downloaded it to provide an alternate link...

thanks for the link

just Bd my L: Ares is making an M40 Pulse Rifle from Aliens. If it doesn't use strictly proprietary parts, im all over that.

Other than the pulse rifle, other things that caught my eye:

AW 338 spring powered version (doesn't say VSR compatible though)
WA 2000 spring powered (VSR compatible)
M40A3 spring powered (if this is VSR compatible, i may actually buy this and do the whole sniping thing)

Ares just blew my mind...

Well, if you've popped it up on Google, I'm not going to risk my neck adding my link unless yours goes down.

PSA: Please note that the PDF posted is not the final version of the 2010 ARES catalog. This PDF is current as of January 2010, however, the contents of the posted PDF still contain errors that need to be edited and is therefore subject to change without notice. While nevertheless informative, this version of the 2010 ARES catalog should not be considered definitive.

Incidentally, the Pulse Rifle is an AEG.

Yea I noticed that too, that's why I posted the original links so it downloads the latest version... always try the download on their website first then mine if you're too curious (like me ;) )

ya the realistic disassembly is cool, but honestly, ill just stick with CA G36s. They are tried and true and dont have the blowback. i know some people like the BB, but i personally dont. Still, their G36s looked great.

I don't see a M40A3...

If blowback is a deal breaker for you on the ARES G36, you might not be paying enough attention.

That's a free-float handguard and one-piece barrel. Fixes the old issue with both CA, STAR and early ARES G36s where the handguard actually moves the barrel (usually 2-piece for the K and full length).

Realistic disassembly means that if ARES releases the barrels and handguard separately, you can go between C-K-E/nil in a matter of minutes and still have benefit from a stable barrel. Older G36s wouldn't have allowed that change nearly as easily due to the disassembly by tool required to get to the hopup unit.

Upper receiver is now one-piece. Fixes the older CA G36 issue where the upper receiver can split apart slightly.

Improved stock design, now the rear receiver / stock interface looks like the real steel.

Locking bolt cover, though the latest CA36s are suppose to have that, too.

Improved optics. The 3.5x scope I've seen has sufficient eye relief for PB goggles and crisp visual. Apparently the red dot is improved, too, but I haven't seen that yet. Personally, if the real steel G36 red dot is not that great, I never really expect the airsoft one to be any thing more than a novelty.

Still worried about blowback? Quick disassembly. One screw. Reassemble. Blowback disabled. Or so I was told, should've remembered to look when I had one apart at Shot.

Throw in quick spring change and Micro Switch, same as all other ARES AEGs.

The CA G36 is indeed tried and true, but the ARES G36 is still unabashedly better.
