I had a similar problem with my gears, ended up...
I had a similar problem with my gears, ended up having like 3 bushings on one side of the sector gear, one on the spur, and 1 on the bevel. Make sure that the gears aren't getting pushed diagonally....

What battery are you using? 16awg is probably best regardless, but if you are very tight on space, 18 would probably work. I would wait for someone more informed on the subject to reply also though.
