Not at all. The black pad on them is a thin layer of protective material to avoid the sorbothane getting cut by the holes in the piston head.
It's laser-cut out of sorbothane which is an extremely high-tech shock absorbing material... Adjusting your FPS by making a pad on the cylinder head is... kinda... dumb.
Buy the appropriate spring, and then use thrust bearings on the spring guide.
