There's a table somewhere on here that shows what porting is suitable for which barrel length. And I know Madmax has a stickied thread about matching cylinder to barrel length...a good read.

I think the "type 2" is what you want for a MP5.

Type 1 (has the port a bit further back) are for M4's and similar length barrels

Type 0 is full (no port) for long barrels like M16/AK

The port always goes at the back...
