Without knowing what brand of AEG you have there it's hard to say how to take the front sight off.

As a rule most are held on by set screws. The catch is that chunk also holds on your foregrip. You will need some sort of gas block, something to hold the grips in place, maybe an outer barrel, then you may find you want a rail system, and it goes on from there.

There are some pretty good descriptions on here of rifles modified like that and a couple good right in Canada retailers who can get you the parts. Make sure you know what you need, and that you have it all on hand before you start this. I'm guessing you have one AEG, and if it goes down because of some part that won't be in Canada for six weeks you'll be bummed out.
