It shoots. Usually very weak if the gun is in good shape.
But I have yet to see piston miss alignment or pin hole getting used in an ICS... and I have one of the older 1997 mechboxes... I still don't know what makes you think it works wrong with high power setups...
It's basically a V2 with the bullet-proof top of the V3s... Forget that it's splitting, it is not moving at all when latched. So consider that it's exactly as sturdy as a V3, but in a V2-style gun.
There is zero mechanical flaw in the ICS design. The only draw back is that it uses some special parts and requires some tinkering to make compatible with other brands.
