Canada post has kiosks open until 9pm, Saturdays too - at least in Ontario.

I sell here mostly but have bought some stuff too. It's important to communicate your expectations.

When I'm selling, I always set and communicate a firm timeline as to when I'm going to ship and I stick to it.

When I'm buying, I don't pay until I know when I can expect the seller to ship. I'm not looking for the exact minute, but I get them to commit to an approximate time so I can avoid exactly what you're going through.

Next time ask questions first and pay after as opposed to the other way around.
