Its actually a ton easier to maintain a gas gun then an AEG in my opinion. I started with GBBRs then I bought an AEG as a backup for winter....I favour my GBBR heavily over AEGs.
I would say to go with a King Arms or G&G M4. VFC is known for its externals but not its internals.
KWA is good as well, but aftermarket parts and such is slim pickings. I wouldnt spend more then 350 bucks on an AEG.
Personally, id recomend getting a new gen WE M4, mod the bolt catch, and have a ton of fun with it.
