It depends on you I quess. I have a 3pt on my M4, just so if I need my sidearm, I just let go and my M4 stays across my chest. You may want an rear adaptor if you have a "bottom" sling mount. The adaptor keeps it from flipping upside down. I got mine from CHALCUS and its great. I would recommend it!.
