Type 89 I don't know much about
M4 and M16 have ver.2 mechboxes (break apart when upgraded too far)
Personally, G36 all the way, solid ver.3 mechbox and common so lots of replacement/upgrade parts available. What are you playing though? Larger fields with longer engagement distances you'll want the increased accuracy of a longer barreled gun (G36 instead of G36c), as I said in a previous thread get the right gun for the job, my CA36 shoots 30fps higher than my teammates G36c with the exact upgrades, the difference is all in barrel length. Moderately upgrading a long barreled gun will serve you better than a highly upgraded carbine. If of course your playing at shorter ranges then a carbine is what your after.
