TM SIG552 is actually very solid, their longer guns and armalite series are not.
So for mainstream manufacturers in order of best to worst: Systema, G&P, CA/TM, G&G, ICS.
Having never held or used any VFC or STAR guns I can't form an opinion about them. And CA and TM are on the same level because although you save money on a metal body by buying a CA gun, it's internals are less than adequate, whereas TM internals are really good.
I myself switched from TM G3 with a CA metal body, to CA36 (unfortunately not one of their metal guns lol). Once a teammate of mine bought a G&P M249 and I looked it over, our whole team switched from CA to G&P.
