Get a doc to do it... don't take a risk with infection. If you leave it in it'll become calcified. The body naturally calcifies any foreign objects so that it can't break up. However being in your hand (lots of nice delicate muscles tendons nerves) I'd recommend getting it removed, and by a doctor at that.
