Bushings are more likely to fair with high tension springs rather than high speed applications. A long sustained spray may heat up the bushings causing them to melt, but realistically, you'd never be spraying long enough for that to happen. With a stock spring, nylon bushings work just fine. I ran my stock JG MP5 (330 fps) for almost 50k rounds (plus tons of dry-firing) before opening the mechbox and its plastic bushings were still in perfect condition.
