clear or not to clear

I've played some games around Montreal. I had a lot of fun. But I seem to get confusing messages when it gets about clear airsoft.

I know plastic mech boxes are not that great.

But do you guys also consider clear with CO2, spring or even metal gear boxes bad also?

I'm just trying to understand the general point of view about clear on this board.

Clear in itself is nothing more than an esthetic consideration.

G&G and ICS clear models are ok, though you still get a better gun with high end stuff.

The rest of the clear stuff is crap.

There's a line between "cansoft", where the gun is only as transparent as it is legally necessary, and "clearsoft", which is just entirely clear. Most cansoft guns are standard black airsoft guns with a different receiver, most clearsoft guns are several grades below standard airsoft guns.

While we have to accept cansoft to a degree for practical reasons, there is no reason to promote clearsoft. This isn't Clearsoft Canada.
