Good idea?

Hey. I'm new to the site, and as many of you see, not age verified. Sadly I'm not yet 18, but I really want an airsoft gun to satisfy my airsoft needs until then. I'm thinking of getting a CAS G&G m16, would you guys reccommend this? It won't be used execivly, and will mostly be used to get a feel for the guns, see what I like and prefer, and too upgrade and get used to that, so that once I get a better gun I won't mess it up. I'm thinking of also buying an 9.6V 3800mA NiMH Large Battery and a good charger. Do you guys think this will be good? And do you have any suggestions about upgrading? Thanks for any help.

Well, im 16, but the best advice i can give you, is to get in contact with your local comunity, usually skirmish hosts are fine with minors comming out to a game, maybe not to play, but at least to learn about the game, and maybe try out a few guns. Keep your eyes out, and next time you see a game hosted in your area, try PMing the host asking if you can drop by and check it out

Also, Read up here. Basically all of the sticky'ed FAQs, its a lot, but it will really help you learn alot about the sport

OK, thanks for the advise. But do you think I should get the gun? I can play with a bunch of my friends, one of them owns a big piece of property. And where did you get your guns? Right now I'm pretty much limited to the G&G's.

You shouldn't be getting any airsoft guns at your age, period, that's what we'll say here.

If you really want to play, talk to your dad. The best way for minors to get involved in airsoft is through parental participation.

So if my Dad got age verified, I could get guns through him? Or is that frowned upon here? And like I said, the gun would just be for me and my friends on his private property, away from the public.

VERY FROWNED UPON! If your dad gets into the sport and gets 2 guns then when your 16 you can play at some game WITH your dad, BUT ONLY IF HE PLAYS TOO.

Thanks for all the help guys. Now back to my original question, is the CAS version m16 a good gun for beginners? I'll order it through an online retailer, and it will have to satisfy me untill I'm 18 I guess...

I'm sorry but you are under aged, nobody will answer that question as if we tell you what gun is good or not, you will buy it. We highly recommend you just wait till your 18.

3years goes by faster then you think. Until then, just make sure you read up, learn alot.. more importantly, get a PT job cause airsoft is not cheap.
