shotgun ranges?

okay since most things I seem to post get thrown in here ... seems this is the best place to ask this question

what kinda ranges are people getting from the different multi shot shotguns?

- M500 gas 6mm (5rnd)
- UTG/crossman spring clones (3rnd burst)
- TM spring (3rnd burst)
- c02 crossman (1 or 3rnd )

this is a semi serious question... I would expect the M500 to have a better range of the bunch ... but out past 100ft what kinda range are people getting? (and no I'm not expecting 150+ ft... but decent accuracy in the 135ft range would be nice...)

Tm M3 super 90 is about as good as an aeg. best shot gun to my knowledge, it's one of the 3 inner barrel ones.

TM is basically the best of the lot, still testing my crossman clone to see if it stacks up

Ive gotten kills with my tm m3 upwards of 130-140 feet. Best thing ive ver done was use a mishmash of bb weights, from .12-.43 all in one shell.

thanks guys... I was planing on running .2/.25/.28 in the shells.... I'm just sorta suprised to see the springers getting a better range rating then the gas M500

although on a good note with that I have 'heard' from a few that the crossman clone matchs up and sometimes bypass's the power of the TM

anyone know how the UTG clone stacks up to the TM and crossman? I'm selling my EBR to pick up a shotgun and upgrade my G18 (for when you need a lil full auto assistance ) for me personally it should be more fun with the group I play with ... and honestly to match/outrange a good half of who usually shows up I'd need to spend a few grand. it's not gonna happen, so I'm just going with what is light, manouverable and the most important .. MORE FUN

The issue with the gas guns are their too inconsistent given the fact that the gas is too variable to temps and if you rapid fire it decreases the effective range and lifespan of the gas in the reservoir. This is a general rule of thumb for most gas guns, if I am mistaken about the shottys then someone kindly correct me.

As for which one to get, always go with TM. aftermarket parts with no fitment issues, and whenever possible avoid clones.

the Tm has 3 barrels and one bb per barrel, the gas M500 has one barrel for 5 bbs, that's why the Tm is more accurate. And the crossmans having more power means shit all. cheapo guns tend to have much higher FPS but also only last a few games. TM is the way to go if you want a solid gameable shotty. the UTGs are good but not as good as the TM, IMO, TM is only choice for a primary, the crossman and UTG are only good as on field backups (on sling/in scabbard just in case) while you are running another gun.

My m3super90 was really good, light and had rather really good range for a springer. There was a guy on my team who had one and after a lot of pratace could snipe players with it no problem.

Never really measured it, but my M500 (5x6mm) reaches out to at least to at least 100 ft. easily.

As for accuracy, since it has 5 BBs I actually want some spread in the pattern, no sense having 5 BBs stay closely grouped.

The gas ACM M500 (I have the custom Marushin clone) is the one I have. The 5-shot spread makes the accuracy somewhat irrelevant, though. Any range beyond 30 feet, you're looking at a spread of about a 1-foot diameter. I imagine if you got out to around 100 feet, you'd lose the spread cohesion to a single target. At that point, you're looking at more of a random swathe.

The truth is, they use very accurate barrels to make shotguns. But the spread counteracts that readily. I would say that beyond 80 feet, it's a crapshoot, no matter what shotgun you're looking at, as long as it has a multi-BB shot. However, that TM shotgun with multiple barrels is likely far more accurate at such ranges. I can't attest to that though, I don't own one.

Just a theory.

I've yet to test my m500 (3x6mm gas) for range. Always used it for CQB distances.
