Something to keep in mind.. AK mags are bigger than M16/M4 mags.

If you are getting a "shingle" an AK mag won't fit in that. For the double/triple M4 mag pouches it may fit 1-2 mags not properly though... but I'm not 100% if an AK mag will fit though. Why don't you just get a mag pouch designed for the mag you want to put in it?

Also, some chest rigs like the HSGI ones have "universal" mag pouches that can hold M16, AK or M14, etc magazines.

I bought a couple single m16 mag pouches. they could barely hold my AK mags, I had to adjust the little buckled fully out and the top still has a hard time wrapping over the mag. a bitch when your trying to pull them out in a hurry and you gotta wrestle the cover off the mag

well, I've been having troubles finding ak mag pouches, I'm sure I'll come across some

and as far as it not fitting the best, I knew that a two mag m4/16 puch would probably hold one ak mag, I could always bring it to a friend who is good w/ fabrics

do mag pouches have some sort of durable hemming I am not aware of?

Last time I checked ASCMart has a great AK chest rig, it's not Molle as I remember but still. If that's too rich for your blood then you could always get one of thost cheap chicom chest rigs, they're only about $20-30.

see, I don't get it, is it wider to allow for the curve?
or is it slightly curved itself

if anyone owns an ak please, a little info would mean a world of help

AK mag pouches are wider to allow for the curve rather then curved themselves. generally it's not the width that gets people, since as stated double m4 pouches will fit a single ak mag width wise no problem. It's the height that tends to cause people trouble.
