Newb Questions

searched but couldn't find anything of this specificity!

I have a pulse r76 (I know, I know)
I want to buy a new mechbox, new inner/outter barrel
new front end, same receiver new hop-up/ bucking, the whole nine-yards . . . basically switch out everything and only leave the original receiver

where can I go wrong. supposed to be compatible (realise I might come across some problems) w/ T-Marui parts
the only problem is I'm finding trouble finding a front-sight

thoughts?! I love 'em!!

P.S. I labeled this 'newb-questions' so all the other newbs can ask there questions here, instead of making dozens of repetedous threads
which I realise the non-newbs don't appreciate - nor, probably the mods

Seriously, ditch the crossman and get something else. Period.

You have no idea how expensive what you're proposing gets, and at the end of the day it's still a POS plastic body holding it all in.

... never mind compatibility issues...

Just how hard did you search?

http://www.airsoftcanada.com/showthr...ight=pulse+r76

that's just one of many threads on the subject.

I've looked up ALL the parts I'd need and I've tallied
I understand it's a pricey endeavour, and I kknow that buying a new one is more beneficial
but if I make my own puppy, I can call that shit my daughter/son!!

what (not saying it wont happen) would cause the receiver to; edit- snap/stress/crack , it'd be the only plastic part of the body

just look on ehobbyasia.com for the front sight. Sometimes refered to as an "A sight" or "triangle sight".

Or any other airsoft place in the states (airsoft atlanta has tons of stuff).

It'd be way easier to get age verified and then search the classified and/or post a want ad. There's usually lots of front sights kicking around.

have fun, best of luck with your rebuild (personally, I think you're wasting your time...but to each their own).

Quoted for truth.

Although i can understand the desire to build a scratch gun (or mostly scratch) The amount of money and work involved would far more then just buying a new gun, and at the end of the day, you will end up with a shitty plastic gun that might not even shoot.

Sorry to rain on your parade, but just buy a new gun.

I understand building guns, I just don't understand building them from a crossman POS.

You will have compatibility issues.
You will have fitment issues.
You will have placement issues.

Even worst, the body may not support what you want to do.

Haha! it's all good
the Parade is not even a thought in process

that being said - who has made a gun from scratch and how'd they go about it? part by part or slowly switchover parts from a current AEG

Not to rain on your parade also, but how would you even upgrade that? i mean the only way i can see would be to get a complete new mechbox. or at least a couple parts at a time. I mean i can see buying a new motor only to have it shred through the other stock internals. Ok so we'll start with the gears then. the stock motor shreds it's own pinion gear on the hardened gears. so we'll start with the spring. the power of the spring destroys everything else. etc. i mean what you are trying to do is possible i suppose but it doesn't seem very good to me, sorry

get AV'd and check out the parts section, I've built lots of AK's that way

I was just thinking; buy all coordinating parts - really just cheap out and buy everything scratch except said 'original receiver' than put it together when all is gotten, to save myself from what you said

see, and don't you love those guns more than one you just bought?
