Shipping box
I was just wondering, what does everyone ship their large sized guns in (like M16s, Ak47s, etc). I have to ship something and I have the original box, but I really don't think it would be wise to ship a box that has a picture of the gun on it, so I went looking for another box that's larger than it, but I wasn't able to. I tried to flip the original box inside out but no use.
So does anyone have ideas on what I can use to ship it in?

Turn it inside out and wrap it in brown paper. :P

If you can't turn the top of the box inside out (which you should be able to do) then wrap it in brown paper or a few layers of newspaper and you're good to go. Make sure to tape the actual box together before you wrap it or it won't be very sturdy.

Pack up the contents of the original airsoft box (inside out or not) so everything is secure, find a large cardboard box and cut a large strip that you can wrap around the original box (make the base wider so you can fold up two flaps over the sides). Secure the whole thing with shipping tape. You can re-wrap that in kraft paper if you want a nice neat package.

Shipping paper is the best. I jacked a box full from my old retail job (we used it to stuff our promo items) and it's the best for shipping. I wrap the major parts (gun, mags, etc...) in shipping paper, put it in a box, put address on box, then wrap the box in a double layer of shipping paper, and then another double layer of shipping paper with address + shipping info on it. Excessive? Not really, since it keeps it tear-resistant, sturdy, and most importantly; non-descript.

if you have the original box use it, just use those brown paper.
If you don't and you think you will sell em quite a bit get the Forensic Evidence box, Im serious people use em to ship firearms as well. They made it really sturdy and prevent it from moving around. You can buy em at online Police Equipment store. |

Pack it in the original box.
Layer on a porno mag's worth of extra cover (or at least the escort ads from the back page of your local Sun/Now/Eye/etc...). Then wrap it in post office brown paper (doesn't cost much for a tube of it). Two layers is nice...nothing will show through and an accidental scratch won't go through to the box. Then tape it up (corners/seams and a couple of times around at either end of the box doesn't hurt). It'll be a bitch to get into for the guy receiving it, but at least he'll get a chuckle when he gets past the brown paper. Tys |
