I tried 0.40's and they dropped WAY too much too fast, even on max hop in my VSR @ 430 fps with 0.2's

Your gun really has to be tuned for heavier BBs when you use the .36g or .40g weights - particularly the hopups, or you will get premature drop even if you turn the hopup all the way up.

Just anecdotally from what I hear from people the line on a regular hopup seems to be the .28g BB. A full metal hopup with a stronger nubbin' is needed for .30 (or a fresh/brand new hopup). The problem is the heavier the weight, the more hopup influence you need to get the BB backspin you need to keep the BB airborne).

I have a Guarder Clear in my M24, its shooting around 400fps all year, and I've only been using washed 0.36g Bastards since I got my first batch (incidentally, I bought two more bags after), and I love the way my rifle shoots, way better than any other velocity I've used. I get an easy 180ft aiming level, and its nothing to predictably extend that to 230ft just by compensating for elevation as needed. I still haven't tried the .40g in the field yet, I should though.

They were BBbastard .25g blacks on the TWAT field.

Anyone used these indoors and notice the same effect?
