Yeah I would probably go with the advanced. I mean you do get a regular G&G rather than Combat Machine/G&G hybrid and that alone is the deal maker for me. For you however I really don't know maybe try showing up to a JOC game and asking around if anyone has those guns and ask if you can handle it for a round.
Other than that, Ken might let you do it if you ask him **REALLY** nicely.

If you arent going to use the upgrades, then no. I would say yes, if just for the motor and brushings. |

The tightbore is nice, as is the spring guide and the silver wiring. As Amos already said, All G&Gs have shitty piston heads, although you really shouldn't worry about it. Play with it for a season before you chance anything IMO

so what would a bad piston head affect? would the poor compression be very noticeable or is it something that I (as a beginner) really dont need to worry about for now?

I made the mistake of not buying things because I wouldnt need them 'for now' You will learn that if you dont need them now, you will soon. |

Really, all your losing is some FPS, but nothing major to make a difference to anything but the more serious players As a begginer, its a great rifle as is.

i understand that fps isnt everything and bb quality, barrel quality and whatnot is more important but would the lower fps mean less range or just a longer time to get there?

a bit of both, but the difference between say, 360 and 390 would really not be noticeable.

I can help you with my experience maybe. I bought the M16 advanced version of Buyairsoft.ca, and it was supposely shooting 375fps. When testing it, it shot 330 with .2g, all I did is change the spring, it now shoots pretty consistensly around 393fps, considering the 509mm Tighbore barrel included in it, it's the same feeling than my previous G3-SG1 with upgrades. I've got told by the seller that the silver electroplated tightbore is the same for both version.
Overall, I love this gun, all I was hoping is that it would be as good as my TM G3 was, and it's actually doing very good! |
