TM Hi-Capa 5.1 Upgrade List

Hey all.. nub here

So I just ordered a TM Hi-Capa 5.1 and was wondering what parts I need to get to make this a good, reliable gun for skirmishing (sniper sidearm) and target shooting..

I've planned to order:

1. 150% Guarder Springs (Recoil and hammer)
2. SD Slide V12 Springfield Armory (Guarder? Airsoft Surgeon?)
3. Guarder Valve for better efficiency (is this or the high flow better?)
4. TK Twist inner barrel or PDI 6.01 inner barrel or Nineball 6.03 inner barrel (depends on which ones are still on stock in Redwolf/Uncompany/WGCshop, which are the only shops I can order from)
5. AS Shock Buffers
6. AS Nozzle and Piston Head or PDI/SD/9ball piston head (depends again)
7. SD Metal rear sight
8. Kingarms or 9ball air seal
9. 9ball mag bumpers
10. SD or WE magwell
11. Anything else important that I missed?
I'm guessing that an outer barrel and chamber would be important? but I have no idea what the differences are on a chamber and outer barrel :P and a new BBU?

basically my questions are:
1. What upgrades would I need to make a kick a** Hi-capa?
2. What brand makes the best Hi-capa accessories? Like slides, etc (not custom made slides that run for 400$ though haha )
3. I'll be putting around 100 rounds through it, at least, every week.. so what would give me reliability mostly.. but still good power and the feel of a nice metal slide
4. Does anyone have a diagram/good explanation of a Hi-capa 5.1 which labels what a piston, nozzle, etc are? Because I'm still new to GBB's right now and rarely upgrade them alone..

Extra Info: Can only get parts from the 3 shops above and budget is around 500$ or more.. not counting the Hi-capa. Plus I've made a homemade silencer/suppressor adapter..

thx for any info/advice ahead of time

  1. Airsoft Surgeon does not make a V12 Springfield Armory slide, nor does Guarder.

Only Shooters Design creates it, as well as the matching outer barrel for it (assuming you can even find it anywhere) as a regular production item.

ILLusion Kinetics can custom make one for you (I have some in order right now.)
  2. KM high flow valves are the best, although the Guarder ones are good for the money. The high output one gives higher velocity than the high performance valve, but the high performance valve is more consistent.
  3. TK Twist is your best choice
  4. It is highly recommended to get a metal outer barrel and chamber - otherwise, your metal slide will chew up your plastic chamber pretty quickly.
  5. New BBU is not absolutely required, but it does improve performance. If you do get it, it comes with it's own piston head that can't be swapped. If you get this item, it will render useless any other piston heads that you purchase.
  6. ILLusion Kinetics slides are not THAT expensive. Standard production models cost just as much or LESS than Shooters Design slides with similar or better quality. The machining has been found to be more consistent than Shooters Design.
  7. Why can you only purchase from the 3 above shops?
  8. If you want to have a threaded muzzle, ILLusion Kinetics can also custom make a one piece stainless steel fixed outer barrel for you with the threading already integrated. Any other threaded rocking outer barrel solution is not great, as it places force on the top of the chamber against the bottom of the slide and will cause excessive wear or poor performance.

Would the Shooter's design slide be more robust then the guarder/airsoft surgeon and the shooter's design champer/outer be better then the guarder?

Whats the BBU unit called in airsoft shops?

Where do you guys ship to?

thx

don't waste money on guarder.....their fit is horrible....SD and Airsoft Surgeon(same stuff Illusion is selling, from the same shop) are worth the extra they cost. The AS fits better in that there is less slop...

Is the AS and SD Slides stronger overall then the Guarder one though?

Guarder metal silde is rubbish!!! Don't use it!!! If you want to change inner barrel , I think TMC can help you, beacause TK , Nine Ball & PDI , they all in stock.

Shooters Design is way more robust than Guarder.

Depending on which batch of Shooters Design slide you get, it may or may not be more robust than an Airsoft Surgeon slide. I doubt there are any more 7075 aluminum Airsoft Surgeon slides left in circulation, but Shooters Design does have them in circulation still. Sometimes it's 6061, sometimes it's 7075. Depends on the model, when it was produced, and where you are buying it from. Best to do, is ask.

However, if you combine it with the new ILLusion Kinetics or Airsoft Surgeon outer barrels, robustness is no longer an issue. The slide no longer contacts the barrel anymore, which is where most wear occurs. If you use this new advanced steel outer barrel, your slide will last infinitely longer than any Shooters Design setup.

The Shooters Design chamber/outer is miles better than the Guarder solution. Let me see... how can I put this nicely..... Guarder outer barrels are CRAP. They tend to not function well... or at all.

ILLusion Kinetics sells it as "ILLusion Kinetics Super Light Weight Speed Blow Back Housing for Marui Hi-Capa & 1911." Other brands may refer to it differently... sometimes it's called a blowback unit, sometimes just a bbu, sometimes a loading muzzle (this is technically incorrect.) Again, depends on the source

Guarder = cast aluminum slide, where as AS and SD are billet CNC slide. No uneven porrosity and stress site in the base structure itself, means stronger slide.

Oh someone forgot to mention
the most important upgrade to
consider—

When you're finished tinkering
with your toy TM, and want to
move up to the professional
choice, a Western Arms.

Well... *I* could ship it to Indonesia, but whether your customs will accept it or not will be up to you. As the importer, you need to figure out and understand your laws. I can't do that for you, as I am just the exporter and I am meeting all of my requirements as an exporter.

Ultimately, I can ship it wherever you want it shipped. If you want it shipped to the US, I can ship to the US.
