You don't HAVE to, my TM has been with me 2 years now everything stock. works like a charm, only problem is low FPS

Also in JG's case...some M4's I have came across required downgrading of the springs

they dont have to, but upgrades are always better.
Such as a tightbore, SCS, and a new bucking/packing.

Just for starters, then you can go out and buy a Systema Revolution Gearbox for $400+ (JK).

So why would i need to downgrade is it because of the high fps cause thats not an issue

Well if you plan on gaming with it, especially CQB, then yes it is an issue.

I'd say the majority of places in Onatrio at least are sub 350fps. Outdoor places sub 400, so downgrading is usually necessary for some of the China clones.

I actually dont go to anyplaces in canada i have a small group of 10-12 friends and we go airsofting at a friends farm so there are no resrictions, there is CQB in the forest and Distance fighting in the fields so you kinda have to be versitile. You know if you have a small CQB gun then you gotta flank them and get close but then your perfect in the forest. So i figure its got good fps for good painfull CQB and good distance to give me a chance.

Soooo you're not 18 then?

If you play CQB with a gun hotter than 400FPS, with some JGs can be, you are risking serious injury.

what makes you think I'm not 18, and by no restrictions I meant fps only

More often than not people on this website suffer from a condition where they either do not read properly or read what they want to see, or just flat out assume things with out evidence.

Sometimes I wish it was a ban-able offense.

I assumed (incorrectly, according to T7) that if you were 18 you would go to actual games rather then run around in a forest with a few buddies.

I know you meant no FPS restrictions, and that was exactly my point: If you're doing "painful" CQB, as you put it, you're risking injury if you're not going to downgrade a hot JG. I expect, since you'll be in a forest with "no restrictions" that you won't have a minimum engagement rule either; the rules aren't there to stop you from having fun, but to prevent injury.

EDIT:

Well, no proof perhaps, but I'm not jumping in and yelling "Yo ur not 18 lulz otherrrwise youd be aved no guns for you lololol)

It was a guess, yes, but not an accusation. I asked him if he was under 18.

I'm sorry but I just can't see a properly mature 18+ year old running around a farm playing army.

Wow... that playing at a farm thing just ruined the whole thread. Epik.
Anyways, no one here can stop you from playing on a farm with friends using high fps guns, but no one can be arsed to help you now.
At least read the FAQs first, there are like 3 of them telling you how to pick out a gun, and 5 million more stating any safety issues.
After reading those, if you still can, and want to play with your select group of friends... go ahead, I'll be readying my "I-told-you-so" clown mallet.

I wouldn't say that ruined the thread at all, being from the Alberta area I'm surprised you are not more familiar with the airsofting on peoples private property such as farms or acreages.

You can try and recommend/tell people what to do till you are blue in the face, in reality people will continue to do what they please. I'm sure XVanHalenX and his friends can acknowledge the risks and either choose to ignore them or have different feelings about them.

I believe this thread needs to be closed now as its starting to go a little south.

Oh because in JG's they tend to use a higher spring lets say it uses a m110 and the gearbox will just be overkilled and all the gears will be stripped...so you would need to downgrade it to maybe a m90 spring and it should last you quite some time...

Depending on the way you care for your gun.
