What about a GBB model? Magazine wouldn't be loaded with shells, rather just bb's.

All things considered, I'd rather buy a whole magazine for $70-90, complete with it's own gas reservoir, than buy a $20-40 magazine and spend $100+ on the shells.

this is the only way the AA-12 is ever going to exist.. (go for a 3-barrel system, like the marui shotguns) I used to use maruzen shotguns (m870 and the m1100) and they were amazing for the 'realism' factor, but the idea of having a fully automatic m1100, without a large shell catcher (which will look like a gorillas shaved nutsack tbh) makes me want to cry at the thought of all the shells that would be lost if this was used 'as it should be' (in a scirmish) keeping track of 8 to 16 shells is a PITA but imagine 40 or 50..

Please bare with me, i'm just throwing out ideas here...
For me it seems that only the drum mag is discussed here. Why not start with the box mag first? I'd still have the gas reservoir in the stock like some of the single bb shottys out there BUT, having a mag with an encased shotgun shell inside (for looks) that would serve as feeding lips (top of the shell protruding) and a mechanism that would replicate the manual cocking of multi-shot shottys? The RS' box mag holds 5 to 8 shells. Of course that "feeding shell" would go all the way down the mag and would be able to store that much more bbs. Let's say 100 bbs, 5 bbs a shot you'd have 20 shots? For the drum mag I think the "revolver-like" idea would be the best. I have this old Crossman revolver that belonged to my father in law (big ass .357, 6 inch canon, all metal) : You have to put a BB in each chamber by opening a slide on the side and rotating the drum manually. It takes a standard CO2 shell in the handguard. Now, with this you don't have the issue of shells ejecting. I'd go with an electric winding mag, it works for aegs no? Since the gas reservoir is in the stock you don't have to worry about electric problems AND mags leaking. It would be an hassle for multiple drum mags but I can't see any type of manual actuation possible (like the the revolvers). About the cool-down effect : wouldn't the actual rate of fire prevent this a bit? I mean GBBRs don't seem to have that problem. IMHO the mere idea of the drum mag for this puppy is a bit complicated and would still rather go along with "standard" mags for portability issues. But that rate of fire is slow and with not that much BBs to shoot I wouldn't be too worried. Please feel free to correct anything that could be wrong.
