VFC vs RS noob need help...

Hello guys, planning to buy new AEG (my first one), but I am little bit confused. As long as my knowledge base on that is really slim, want to have reliable gun "from the box". I am thinking about RS 56-1, but want to build Russ/Soviet kit, and this particular AK is Chinese one... I was told, that VFC AK is a dissent one. Is it true? What is your impression on VFC vs RS AK-s??? Help me, please.
P.S. Ohhh, by the way - any suggestions where is it better to buy them (I need new one only)

Vfc are good quality my Sopmod has been great, but for an Ak type u just cant beat Real Sword for quality internaly and externaly, they are i believe the only 1 to 1 scale replica of an Ak with similar materials used.

The Rs is based on the Chinese type 56 but apart from the bayonet and enclosed front site they are an Ak.

I own a type 56 out of all my rifles i use it the most and its been thru hell and never caused a single issue running a 11.1 lipo

I got mine in London but i believe Huang sells them in To

The real Sword ones replicate the 7.62 caliber AKs, so an older type of 50s weapon. The VFCs are copies of the 5.45 version so they sync with a 70s and onward time line.

I've seen both back to back and would be happy with either. I can't name specific places to get them off the top of my head but if you browse the retail and classified sections you should be able to find what you need.

For a bad guy setup either version would be OK, but if you're very specific about the time frame or location you should check the history books and then tailor your choice.

The Real Sword Type 56-1 is just awesome (if you want a russian style AK47S, you would need to modify it slightly by cutting the top of the hooded front sight - apart for that the build materials (the quality of the steel used (it is actual steel since it can be blued) - the quality of the wood) used are the same as for a real AK - dimension wise, it is the same dimension too)

I did not have the chance to try out a VFC; but, I can tell you that I would not trade my RS Type 56-1 for any other AKs (I simply love it )

From my research the RS Type 56 is going to be the base gun for my VSS project (which I'm hoping to get off the ground sooner or later) so that should give you a hint to the quality of the internals (basically I have to do an entire overhaul of the externals while keeping the internals stock except maybe for a Shredder Concave Spacer, Prometheus Purple Bucking, Trigger Master, and a spring to bring to 380 FPS).

Also the wood furniture for the Real Sword comes from the same forest that the Real Steel Issued Type 56 comes from (or at least thats what the rumours are).

Well I had a VFC AKS-74, and it was a REALLY nice build. Had good confidence in the stock internals, apart from the plastic cylinder head. But beautiful externally.
The local russian team here has almost all RS type 56's and they're just better all round.
If you can afford the RS, go with it, they're just fantastic out of the box.
But if your looking for an AK74 style like I was, then VFC is the way to go, they have the only high quality folding stock AK74's that I know of....
