CA M249 box mag works great, but inserting M4/M16 mags are difficult?
Has anyone else noticed how tight the fitment is when inserting m4/m16 mags into their CA M249? You really have to get it just right and push fairly hard (I'm afraid I might break something) yet the box mag adapter clicks into place with ease?

Yeah that's typical to all CA249's depending on what brand of mags your using
Don't use metal mags, as you will tear out all the internals Use solid plastic mags, yes they're plastic but you can carry 100 of them and they don't get ripped apart by the mag well! Someone here used to use star plastic M4 mags with great effect |

I used the CA M4 mag that they included with the M249. It's getting scratched up badly from the super tight fitment.

i think the tight fitment is to keep the mags in. i had both a CA and A&K 249, the CA magwell fit tight, while the A&K was loose. i never had a problem with the CA dropping mags but did with the A&K. i think its because of the clip used to hold them in, youll notice it doesnt have to move much for the mag to release. i think it needs to be tighter to keep the mags in due to this. as long as you put the mags in straight you shouldnt have any problems. your better off using the box though, one handing a 249 so you can wind the mags is a bit of a pain, plus, if your using it for suppression, you dont want to have to stop firing to wind mags.
