Kwa m93r : Cylinder split in half

Ok now something bad happened :/
I was just trying out some news mags I received (probably not the cause), and out of a sudden I saw a "big" black piece flying out of the gun.

Turns out it was the cylinder, cylinder pin, nozzle and nozzle spring that were ejected out of the gun O_O

The cylinder broke exactly at the pin's location. I'm trying to epoxy it back together, even if I'm almost sure it won't hold :'( (not a lot of surface for contact)

Anyone have an idea about what could have happened???

My KWA M93r did the same thing a couple weeks ago (minus the shooting-of-parts excitement).
The gun started out fine, then was venting gas after about 5 shots from a full mag.
The problem, as you might have also determined, wasn't the mag, as I found no issue following its inspection.
Next thing was the cylinder splitting in half - exactly at the pin, like in your case.
Poor design.

I believe the issue stemmed from lack of lubrication in the cylinder's sliding path. It was pretty dry inside when it happened, and its obviously a high friction area with a lot of motion.
So far I've placed an order for 2 stock cylinder replacement from KWA, as there doesn't seem to be any upgrade for it at this time.
If anyone knows of a metal upgrade part, I'd love to get ahold of one.

Once the replacement arrives, will try again with plenty-o lube. (ordered 2 parts, incase that isn't the main problem)

At least I know I'm not alone
Where did you get the parts from and how much?

Mine wasn't *dry* but yeah I suspected a lacl if lube as well...

Any other inputs are appreciated

I had to go directly to KWAusa proshop online.

http://store.kwausa.com/partsm93riin...springs-1.aspx

$10 part + $21 shipping to Ontario
Thats why I've ordered 2 - shipping is still $21

I had to call in to place the order as the check-out wasn't friendly to Canadian orders.
(FYI, KWA told me they had stock on a Friday when I ordered, and were out of stock the following Monday....before they shipped my order...they expect stock next week)
