I got some M16 star mags, and they feel so fake. Consitering their large size, their must be room in there to put some weight. Dose anybody have experience opening these things up?

Apparently it's just glue. Pry it open, put fishing weights inside, reseal.

on the bottom you have a little hole. Its actually blocked inside. Take either a holepunch or drill and tap it. This gives you a space in the bottom that is seperate from the spring and loading section.
So what to do is add some fishing weights and then you somekind of epoxy or foam perferably an expanding foam to fill the space. Then you have weighted mags and quiet still. |

I remember seeing a thread about adding weight to a star mag. Use the search button, you should be albe to find it. I would have found it for you but my search button is all messed up for some reason.

that is right, ...what i read is that you insert lead bbs in the base of the mag and add glue...repeating the process 2 times over should give you good weight to the mag and a more "realistic" feel... |

I don't think the TM body and mechanism was designed to carry heavy or 'realistic weighted' mags tho... be careful with that.
