Radio Setup
I'm looking into an affordable Radio/ headset or throatmike set up. By affordable I mean I'm looking to spend no more than 400 MAX and would like to spend a whole lot less I'd perfer something in the 200 range.
I'm not really sure what I really want and need, but I know a few req. 1. Will work fine in milsim style events. 2. A headset that will fit comfortably under my CG634 Helmet. |

That's Techseller's store. Get a 4 or 5 watt programmable radio (under $100), and I would recommend a Cavalvy Elite II headset. Both those would run you about $150 or so for a high quality setup. |

This is the radio my teams been using for the last 2 years. Dual frequency to listen to your team and HQ. It's similar in quality to high end portable radio's.

Puxing 888, PTT cable & Cavalvy Elite II headset, all from Techseller (technologydirectcanada.com), all for about $210 taxes in. (shipping's free on orders greater than $65)
Stay away from throatmikes - I was thinking of getting one, but decided against due to comfort (lack of) and broadcast reliability (pickup mics aren't always the greatest). |
