Excellent Quality Gas Blow Back?
I'm looking to grab the WE KH416 Open Bolt, newest version. I've watched some videos and seen some reviews and all seem to be positive, good material, bolt catches properly, etc.
I'm really after a good Gas Blow back M4 or HK416 rifle, open bolt, not to really game with but only to do a few potshots here and there and have it as a wall piece. You guys have any suggestions? Aside from Inokatsu that costs 1500+ lol. Cheers. |

We is your best bet. Cheapest and most reliable in my opinion. I have had mine (AWSS version) for several years and it hasn't really given me any problems. Exterior metal is great very sturdy and can take a beating. I have beaten mine to hell and it still plugs away.

see now that's just misinformation right there ><
KJW M4 is by FAR the most reliable out of the box and is about the same price as a WE

You know a good source to gather Magpul parts? Like body? Handguard, grip, etc? Love the look of the Tan metal body. Not sure if there is one for the HK416 though |

The OP is also most interested in the 416. You can find them, they just might be more expensive. WE is the only company which made a gas 416, unless VFC has released theirs already. To the OP: with regards to the WE, you will not find that many after market bodies. There are only a select few, the most popular being the blank receiver or a COLT M4A1 receiver, with the exception of the 416, and T91 receivers. I also do find with all WE's, that they have the best looking externals out of the box (my opinion). However the rifle is built to Real Steel spec. So all real steel parts will fit, this includes rails, flash hiders, stocks, sights, gas blocks, charging handles, grips, buffer tubes and even upper receivers if your willing to do some modification to the lower. Now I am not putting down the KJW, it is a great performer, and decently accurate, as well has excellent cooldown, but it lacks very little after market support for things like receivers, and internals, but will take AEG front ends and externals, which is a plus if you wish to keep the hit on your wallet less painful. Lastly I would stay away from WA/G&P WOC magna systems, as they have a history of one part failing after another. If you are just interested in buying a gun for plinking, and it appears to me (no offence) that you have very little knoweldge in GBBR's (hey its a great time to learn! and i'm still learning!) I don't think that you want a gun that you have to keep fixing. There are members here who can help you with the WA/Magna system - I think Kullwarrior knows quite a bit about them. As for VFC I have no experience with them what so ever. If you decide to go the WE route, you will have fun with the magpul parts, as their real parts are not as expensive, as say Troy or Daniel Defence, and the real steel magpul parts will fit! There are quite a few online retailers that sell magpul parts. I believe www.oneshottactical.com sells a few magpul items. Your best bet is to go over to www.canadiangunnutz.com, as they have a slew of retailer websites that sell real steel accessories, including magpul. With GBBR's your going to spend some money, it's going to happen, regardless of which one you buy. I look at it as having one hell of a cool toy to play with afterwords. Have fun!

WE also makes a Tan HK 416, I just sold one a few weeks ago.
Aside from repeating what Ballcancer just mentioned, if you're dead set on a 416 just for plinking then grab a WE. Great externals and in my personal use, good enough internals that if you don't mess with anything they're good to go OOB. I've owned 7 of these things so far and not had any serious breakages or anything that even a novice couldn't fix. The 416 is especially easy to take down, even more so than a regular AR. |

KWA/KSC make a GBB M4 too now. Might be worth looking into. I haven't found any reviews for it so far

More than I expected with responses. Awesome thank you guys.
I was contacted about an available tan WE HK416 Open bolt, checked out some pictures, not sure if I want a nice solid black or a solid tan HK416... I already have a list of Magpul items "grips, Rail covers, hand grip, check rest, butt stock" and checking out a Eotech imitation sight (with hopefully very little ghosting). Again, thanks for the quick responses and the respect that was shown. |

To the OP: No worries, if you have any questions i'd be more then willing help you out! I should also recommend typing in GBBR in the search and in the advance search options select search title only. There are quite a few threads on GBBR's only. As well as a WE thread for trouble shooting which will have a solution to almost any problem that you could experience with a WE. Have fun! Be safe!

Not saying WE HK416 is not good enough, but if the OP is looking for a wall hanger that he can just play with instead of going out to the field, the VFC HK416 would be a better choice in my book. The VFC HK416 is also 1:1 real steel size, and the internal is much more realistic than the WE one, it can adapt to real steel parts/accessaries as well.
Lastly, a well turned WA spec GBBR is just as reliable as other GBBRs. people think WA GBBR are hard to understand and fix, it's because they don't wanna spend time and study on it.

Not Eye Safe, Pretty Boy Maximus on the field take his picture!

The WE open bolt line is REALLY good . I'd say it's just about on par with KJ, but significantly cooler looking.
Why wouldn't you want to game with a 10lb rifle? Once you're used to the weight it's no different than using a plastic gun. |
